Well, apparently the Incas used to stop their children wandering off during the day by digging a pit or trench, too deep for them to climb out of, and plonking them in it.

You don't live next to somewhere called Inca Daycare, LLC by any chance?

There are a number of Peruvian chicken restaurants in and near my town (which I highly recommend, by the way). But this particular neighbor has a Polish last name and there's nothing about him that suggests Incan at all.
