judge gives go ahead in dominion defamation suit

This will be a First Amendment case and there will be discovery for the defense. Which Alan Dershowitz says could be highly damaging to Dominion.

Oh my goodness! You mean just as damaging as your long awaited Horowitz Report!

Tell me it ain't so!

Dershowitz ? A hired asshole thug
Maladministration not impeachable in the Federalist papers
(Never mind Tump majored in Maladministration!!)
Fine
Abuse of Power equals Maladministration so says Dershowitz
So “Abuse of Power” Not impeachable.. except it ain’t the same!
No way, no how! No senator called him on his bullshit cuz
Ooooh he’s Dershowitz!!
Well? Go look it up yourself in early Webster or current dictionaries
He is a paid “blow hard”

Dershowitz is four years older than Biden. Funny how none of the usual suspects are arguing he can't be all there like they always do with Biden.

The CC considered, but rejected, the idea of listing "maladministration" as an impeachable offense.

Not that it matters -- the way they did write the Constitution, an impeachable offense is whatever Congress decides it is.

I kinda wonder where that thinking comes from, since Trump ain't much younger.

It's projection. Trump actually has shown signs of dementia, and it's an oft-employed Republican dirty trick to attack the other side on what appears to be your own weakest point. (Remember 2004 - a 3x Purple Heart winner vs a draft dodger, and which one ended up on the defensive over his service?)

Voting company Dominion Voting Systems’ defamation lawsuit against far-right network Newsmax can move forward, a judge ruled Thursday, as Dominion and rival company Smartmatic pursue 11 defamation lawsuits over baseless election fraud claims about their voting machines.

Delaware state Judge Eric M. Davis denied Newsmax’s motion to dismiss the defamation suit against it, finding the news network likely knew its allegations about election fraud involving Dominion were “probably false” and rejecting Newsmax’s claims they were neutrally reporting news, ruling the network “may have failed to report the issue truthfully” because it ignored evidence and statements from Dominion showing their voting machines weren’t used for election fraud.
Dominion sued Newsmax in Delaware state court in August, in addition to a federal lawsuit against One America News Network (OANN) and anchors Chanel Rion and Christina Bobb, alleging the two far-right networks promoted fraud allegations on their network knowing they were false and “helped create and cultivate an alternate reality where up is down, pigs have wings, and Dominion engaged in a colossal fraud to steal the presidency from Donald Trump by rigging the vote.”

court of appeals tosses 'utterly baseless' case, orders lawyers to pay other side's legal costs:

Pro-Trump Lawyers Who Lost 'Utterly Baseless' 2020 Election Lawsuit Must Now Cover Legal Fees Of Meta, Voting Machine Company

What Happened: The unanimous ruling was made by the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Colorado on Tuesday, reported Reuters.

The court said that attorneys Gary Fielder and Ernest Walker must pay the legal fee of voting machine company Dominion Voting Systems Inc and Facebook’s parent Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ: META) along with other defendants such as state officials in Michigan and Pennsylvania and the Center for Tech and Civic Life, according to the report.

Make these liars pay and pay and pay. Otherwise, hacks like Trump, Alex Jones, Kari Lake, Mark Finchem, and their attorneys will continue to clog up the courts and get free propaganda time with their con-artist lies.

Of course, "loser-pays" policies are a thing the right has been pushing for for decades, for glaringly obvious reasons: if a major corporation loses a lawsuit, the other side's legal bills are probably a drop in the bucket. If a middle class individual sues GM for a wrongful death suit and loses, that's rather a different story.

Given how financially strapped Trump is these days, I wonder if this will change any minds...
