Max Yasgur, Conservative Dairy Farmer....said something to live by

The most interesting thing about Woodstock is that nothing ever came of it. That whole starry-eyed youth counterculture just kind of fizzled out without changing the world.

And look at them today...everything they criticized then. Fucking sellouts

Their generation did at least produce a lot of interesting individuals, such as uberboomer Stephen King.

Oh I get it. There is never not the exceptions. I grew up listening to my parents...and I listen today. They have not aged well. Their morals have changed. It is easier I suspect than doing the right thing

It is the most amazing thing! And not just in the US, across the world...whatever hopes the 20yo of the 60's held, they sure raised a generation that seemed to go the other way.

insert any decade numbers you want in that equation and you'll be on to something.

People change as they grow older. It happened to my Gen X friends from college, too, when they got out in the real world and discovered just maybe they didn't have all the answers!

Max Yasgur was a conservative and yet, he believed in freedom and liberty and the greatness of the individual among other individuals (a collective idea for sure).

How unlikely a friend and yet it happened!

"and yet" LOL....if he's a conservative then of course he beloved in freedom and liberty and the greatness of the individual among other individuals.

There is nothing unlikely about that, as he's not some collectivist lefty Democrat pursuing or promoting racial equity. :D

Individuals coming together as one large group...those are the facts lol!

And the USA and world is dramatically different then what it was in the late 1960's.... something had changed by someone...a bunch of someone's for sure.
