It takes a village (to make a baby)

Idea set in either a remote village or maybe a future space colony.

A town has a disease running through it that unfortunately has left an impact on the population. While they don’t die, the Men’s sperm count is insanely low: in the 100,00s at best and even then a majority won’t have the ability to survive all the way to the egg. This makes impregnation difficult. Even if a husband were to fuck his wife until he was shooting dust, the chances of successful conception are low.

Even with fertility treatments, the chances don’t increase much and the disease has an effect that only appears in invitro fertilization where the egg and sperm will die.

So the town (or colony) comes up with a tradition. When a couple is ready to try and conceive, the husband will go first, then the rest of the town’s men will share the wife , with the hope being that their seed will either push the husband’s forward, giving it a chance, or the flood of spunk wil at least give the couple a baby, even if it’s not the husband’s.

The story could be about a couple who are ready to have their first child, or some outsiders who finally make contact and discover the tradition.

Little scenes inside of the story could include things like the husband’s dad happy to help but also hoping that his sperm will be the lucky one as while he loves his son, he wasn’t his bio father and wood like to pass on his blood, a couple of women (bisexual or lesbian but wanting a baby of their own) working with the town to find indirect ways of participating (instead of sex, maybe all of the men masturbate into a funnel).

I figure it would also lead to a different dynamic in the town. The only time anyone cares about genes is to prevent inbreeding (and even then with the low fertility rate even blood relatives might be allowed but towards the end) so everyone is family to each other in a way and everyone looks out for the kids since until it’s time for another baby, since you don’t know who might be your kin or not.

I also thought it would be funny if generations had different outlooks on it. Younger men are eager to lose their virginity (like imagine if the older girl who you had a crush on growing up was now naked and taking you into her arms when you came to join in helping her conceive), the next generation is still enjoying getting to have sex with younger women, while the oldest are just very casual about it (like imagine some old fart having a full conversation with a first time mother, talking about the weather and what she’s thinking of naming the baby as he brings her to yet another orgasm)

Of course if it became a series, the big climax could be is what’s to be done when a cure is found or the remote village/colony finally makes contact with the outside world again.

Well, what probably makes most sense both romantically and technically is if the husband goes both first and last. Two times shouldn't be prohibitive for almost anybody, especially if the community can provide a sizable pause in between. Maybe they may even take little breaks between each guy, not outright train, in order to, supposedly, allow sperm to seep deeper. Does that have medical sense isn't truly relevant, but turning the trying for a baby into a whole day sporting event does. Ideally the mother to be is held in total bliss for something like three-four days almost nonstop covering her entire predicted ovulation period, with the nominal preselected partner joining in repeatedly as his abilities allow

Eventually they may develop a facility this happens all the time with women arriving on staggered schedule and be taken care for so they have no worries about anything. Depending on how that's present, for an ignorant stranger it may seem to be just a well visited whore house, only one where for the right few days you can find about any town's woman in, and men seem to be dutiful to frequent.

All the village women are horny all the time (biology permitting) and are constantly serviced by all the village men, mostly shooting blanks. What's not to like?
