A god of lust gets tired of their position. They answer someone’s prayers and the person either forgets to thank them or only curses them when they feel shame over the encounter. The god doesn’t even have much of a love life due to the constant requests…so they decide to quit and just live a mortal life.
Only thing is: it’s not easy to just quit.
They try to avoid a job that would tempt them to go back, so they start with a remote job helping grieving families plan funerals…but they talk to spouses who are feeling a need for release, grieving daughters who feel it would be wrong to fuck their husbands or sons who can’t get get it up for their spouse due to the grief…well…would it be so bad if the god made their client radiate desire and gave their spouse an almost unquenchable lust?
Maybe they even take a lighthouse job but they pick up boat chatter or become bored and watch online videos so they start manipulating people around the world.
Or maybe they don’t even try employment but even a trip to the grocery store fills them with the intrusive thoughts of their fellow shoppers. The 18 year old stocking produce has a crush on an older customer who flirts with them but the words go right over their head…would it be so wrong to make one of them a little bolder? The employees sharing a smoke break would love to have their lips wrapped around something other than a cig…so why not give them some encouragement?
Eventually the god realizes they can’t help but keep doing what they do but the journey to that realization is the fun part
