Hi,

I just stumbled over a story by a German author who published stories AND poems.

Aparently someone tried to translate the word "works" into German and the dictionary told them to use "funktioniert". This is "works" as in "it works", not works as in "the author's works". The latter has to be translated to "Werke".

Sorry for the bad translation.

Can you tell me the page where you are seeing this usage? Is it on the Story Page?

Thank you! :D

Interesting

German has a lot less homonyms than English. It's not easy to make the right decision based on a dictionary...
maybe someone used google translate at an early stage of it? :D as some German tv commercials say, if you want something done ask an expert :D
