because they couldn't 'see' it, especially in the asymptomatic cases, they didn't see it as big of a threat; if it had damaged their vanity...

seems a damned shame to me that it can't be passed into law that, to protect the whole of a society from the threat of variants, vaccination is mandatory unless medical reasons suggest it could be harmful to the recipient.

we expect our kids to be vaccinated against measles, mumps, rubella, polio, dtap tdap, tetanus etc..., so why not this? it's proven to be the biggest threat, globally, healthwise and is burning like a wildfire still in some countries. a fully-vaccinated population is the only viable answer

Only 46% in the US have been fully vaccinated. The Delta variant is becoming the dominant one, which spreads faster, impacts younger people and has tended to be deadlier.

This variant has only been around since late last year, so we only know about 6 months worth of information. And every time a new variant mutates, we basically end up at square one on "WHAT WE KNOW"

The only good news is that after two doses, the vaccinations appear to be about 80% effective. (it was over 90% effective against the original strain)
