Peregrinator, Rest in Peace

This saddens me.
We were all supposed to get together for dinner, but life got in the way.
Fly high friend. :rose:

I didn't know him but from reading his posts I thought him to be pretty cool. I hope that his passing was peaceful.

Bunch of ghouls, they only come 'round when someone croaks.

:nana:

Most of my relatives I only ever see these days at funerals. (I was about to add some snark directed at someone who has posted in the thread, but I'll keep it to myself because that's what Perg would have wanted, goddammit.)

And the uk. We loved him over here too.
indeed! he was hardly a flawless human but it was his humanity that shone so brightly brightly. smart and interesting and compassionate.

Little lace is bitter and jealous little man with no real redeeming qualities. Perg was 10x the man lace is.
When little lace was banned he got ogg to post a letter he wrote to the GB and was laughed at and mocked. He never quite got over that humiliation.
quite so
Perg was a top drawer bloke, and was missed here long before his passing.

The way folks are celebrating and remembering him tell you a great deal about how the man lived his life.

Much strength to his family, friends, and loved ones during this time of remembrance. :rose:
this

It is good to see so many of the old school faces again. I am coastalboy. Perg and I had many late night conversations ranging from science and environmental issues, to God and spirituality, to who had the bestest tits on Lit. Sad those days have long ended. But the magic Perg fostered here...lives on. F7ck the haters. Love to all those that smile at the name of Perg
i recall that name! not seen it for a long time so it's good to see you back as dribble.

Perg was probably the #1 Ladies Man of the GB… it would be great if the “old girls”came around more often and not just for funeral threads!

Maybe if there were more posters with his decency, intelligence, wit and honor, they would.

Why are you people responding to Little Lance in this thread? He needs the attention, don't give it to him.

Perg was a regular when I first joined the board, and very much set the tone for a lot of my experience here, even though we only posted together a couple of times. I got to know him a bit more off the board, and feel privileged to have had the opportunity. I am a better person for knowing him, and think we're all worse off for his loss.

(And, if it matters, I saw the news elsewhere and came here. In times of sadness and loss, community matters. Perg helped make this a community for me.)

Just like the other Top 10 HOF Members, Perg didn't spend his time whining like a little girl about who he thought you should or shouldn't talk to.

RIP Perg.

Exactly. Some of us are still in touch. Connections and bonds were formed that will stay with us always. I treasure all the Litogethers, and those I had the honor to meet in person and virtually. Last night I re-read old PMs from friends who have passed on, including from Perg. Bittersweet. He was a good and kind friend.

I will miss seeing him at other places that’s for sure. It was pretty much a daily occurrence.
Some of my nearest and dearest people in my life originally came from this place.

Few things in life are guaranteed, but one is 100% that I will NEVER meet anyone from this or any other website.

That's just creepy as hell.

This is unfortunate news to hear

Our paths have pleasantly crossed a number of times. Always good natured.

I think it's safe to say that no one in this thread, at least, would want to meet you. You know who would have, though? Perg. Show some respect.

I nearly met him in Amsterdam. I was over for a long weekend and he was on his way to Kazakhstan or Kyrgyzstan climbing. But the doofus fucked up the timing. He sent me a hat.

Exactly. People left because assholes had to be assholes. And they won't be back to stay because those assholes then still are assholes today. Quite simple really.

Perg and I would talk about the important stuff while mountain climbing together.

Mount Mishcka’s twin peaks were a shared fave.

I liked his house; always reminded me of the Bob Newhart Show.

He sent me some cute seashell earrings when he and his wife vacationed on an island where I used to live. He was so thoughtful about things like that.

I have met some fine people from here...back in the day.

Met some that was not so fine when their true colors came shining through but that is life.

When WE told me this sad news, I had to stop in and leave my condolences.

Perg was the very first person to notice when I had finally posted long enough to upload an av. "Who's the noob with the pretty eyes?"

I was very intimidated by the board regulars when I first started posting, but he made me feel welcome, and we exchanged a lot of great conversation. His posts were always entertaining to read. My condolences to Mrs. Perg and all his friends and family. :rose:
