France hasnt really improved any since.

Waterloo - more than just a train station. :D

I never liked Churchill but admired his choice of Waterloo for the departure of his corpse. The obvious choice for its Oxfordshire destination was Paddington but Churchill chose Waterloo as his last insult to the French.

France always was a small country and allways will be.

I always enjoyed the fact that when the Tunnel opened, British Rail decided that WATERLOO would be the terminus for train from Paris.

Waterloo just continued a trend of England kicking the snot out of France over the course of several hundred years.
Not sure why they stopped.

Every so once in a while, you should let your opponent regain a bit of strength so there's a bit of fun in the fight.

Ten or so years ago, maybe longer (the years slip by so quickly, it seems), a French diplomat caused a stir by referring to Israel as "that shitty little country."
Considering what Israel has managed to accomplish since its birth, and what France has managed to fritter away despite its natural advantages ... well, who would you rather have as an ally?

No disrespect to either (that they havent earned anyway) I'd have Holland anyday. Guido Fawkes did some practical training there as well.

The British wouldn't have won Waterloo without the Prussians. The Prussians kept a large part of Bonaparte's army away elsewhere and then arrived just in time to finish the French off.

We also had help from the Belgians - not as effective but they were there.
