The 2021 Geek Pride Story Event: Official Support Page

Thanks!
I really outdid myself. Fourteen song titles, six or so pop culture references and a host of authors and movie makers for street names. Story title is "Rotten to the Core", referencing multiple layers of corruption in the city its happening in. I'll probably get flack for a rushed ending, gratuituous violence, male/male sex and a few other triggers, but I'm happy I even made it across the finish line.

Unbelievable, I know. No one bats an eye when girls do girls. For true equality (and I have lesbian sex in there too) I think no trigger warning for the m/m is needed. I did quote Resident Evil though.

Shenanigans!

No, seriously, congratulations to you guys definitely because... I am not going to finish in time. I’m still going to post it separately once it’s done though because my Robert E. Howard obsession needs an outlet in some way, even if it is just a conjecture reference :D

Geekiness doesn’t have to follow a timeline, I contend!

You had me at "Robert E. Howard". Are we talking barbarians or Eldritch Horror?

So, do you know the sequence in the movie Heavy Metal where the quiet, nerdy kid gets the Loc-Nar and in the end it can’t corrupt him? And the entire sequence is heavily reminiscent of John Norman’s Gor and has another planet that’s a lot of Robert E. Howard barbarians?

Well, that was the original inspiration and then it got away from me when I went back to read some of those old science fiction stories. And then, because I have no discipline as a writer, it sent me on a couple of side projects set in modern day. One of them will be finished soon. I don’t know which one, but I think it’s the side project distraction haha :D.

So, barbarian, but Eldritch Horror could be added!

God, I haven't seen that movie in forever. Welp, now I know what I'm watching tonight.

Oh, also, DONE! Well, I mean not "done-done" but done enough. I could hit submit right now if I wanted to. I usually spend a week or two polishing my stories before I have have to publish just to stop fiddling. I have a few more hours to fiddle though, so I'm going to use it.

My thanks to the amazing Erinaceous who pulled of an amazingly fast proofread.

Congratulations! Looking forward to reading what you made!

"You die, the girl dies, everybody dies..."

Oh man, I haven't watched HEAVY METAL in at least a decade.

I'm now imagining that "Den" story done in the style of a modern "isekai" anime -- I mean, it is a guy who gets transported to another world, where he becomes sexy and powerful in ways he definitely wasn't back on Earth, after all. :)

Several of my stories warn of 'bisexual behaviour, British English and lots of booze.'

It's only the Britspeak that our friend Anon bothers to complain about, but I suspect the obvious bi guys lead to reduced reads too. On the other hand I get the odd comment saying "I'm a straight guy, I didn't get turned on by this story at all, but I had to read the whole thing and loved it." Uh-huh, you tell yourself that, love.

I might have opened a few eyes to the wonders of futa erotica with "Express Delivery". Some of the comments echo your quote. :) I'm rather lucky that the SF/F readership seems rather tolerant of my antics. :)

Submitted mine yesterday, an Incest/Taboo piece about a hot blonde gymnast who saves her geeky cousin from some bullies and then makes a man of him. Set in Melbourne Australia in 1994.

Aussie Aussie Aussie!

Oi Oi Oi!

Finally got my head around the improbable geek scenario. Turned out it was an easy fix - just add more women. But that's for next year now.

Lol.

One of my beta readers commented that I "write fellatio with enthusiasm," which made me chuckle. Outed, but who knew? Damn women, though, keep getting in the way ;).

Quick question for Chloe:

I asked Laurel about this in PM but never got a response. Is there any way to make sure the Geek Day story list gets linked on Literotica's front page this year? It was two years ago, but last year it wasn't, and I got the impression that everyone's stories definitely got fewer views than the previous year as a result.

Âccording to Chloe's initial post, we should be getting a front page link this year. Fingers crossed. I'd hate to have pulled so many all-nighters last week for a dribble of new readers.

I did ask Laurel earlier, and she'd said we'd have a link from the Home Page this year. I just messaged her again on that to check. Let you know when I hear back.

Submitted!

thanks to all fellow geeks and writers for helping me get it done this year.

Man, I need a vacation!

Mine was recently pre-approved for release tommorow.

I submitted it on 5/18.

It's a mom/son story where mom is a scientist.

Laurel just let me know here will be an anthology listing page with all the stories, like the last time, and she'll put a link on the front page in the News section once all the stories are live.

She just approved a batch of stories for the event so if you already had it submitted, it should be pre-approved now. Let me know if its not.

And if anyone submits their story over the next few hours, let me know and I'll message Laurel and ask her to add.

Me, I'm still working on mine....
