How long do you plan to keep writing here?

I've been posting stories here for just over a year and I've seen some authors either continue for a long time, write occasionally, or stopped long time ago.
It's making me wonder how long I might last.
How much longer do some of you writers here plan to continue posting stories on this website?

Side question: what's t he longest period you've seen a writer posting their stories? I saw one that's been posting occasionally over the last decade.

I have no idea. No plan. No timetable.

I have over 30 stories that are at least in the planning/concept stage, and some of them are very far along. I want to publish all of them.

I don't see any reason to publish my erotic stories on any other online platform.

I'll probably keep publishing until I can't think of anything more I want to publish.

As long as I have stories being created, have breath, and feeling posting, I will. Most of what I'm posting now was written a year or two ago and I have quite a few waiting to be published, so no plans to stop at a particular time.

Like Simon, no plan, no timetable.

A couple of years ago I roughly figured out how long it would take to write the embryonic ideas in my head at the time, at my then writing speed, and arrived at about two years. I think I've written one of those stories, and a dozen or so new ones, and thought of the same number more. So there's four or five year's worth, meandering in and out of life.

The way I figure it, with life and all, if you plan too much the one guarantee is, you fail, so don't plan. That way, everything is a success.

My ultimate plan is to submit my last story on my death bed, and see if Laurel can get it posted before I shuffle off, mortal coil wise. Nurses, it will be about nurses. In all shapes and sizes. With my way of writing, it will extend my life by weeks, months.

I wonder if I'll ever finish the story I started two years ago...

No time table as far as stopping completely, but I've slowed considerably over the last 3/4 years focusing more on selling.

At this point when I post something its been out for sale for awhile and past its best selling point, and the only reason I do it is as kind of a gift to the readers here who've followed me a long time and who's support helped me get better and gain the confidence to sell and keep writing in general.

Also to piss off my trolls...just when they think I'm done I drop something

Unless I find a reliable and painless way to turn my stuff into ebooks, I'll keep publishing here and on StoriesOnline. Both sites have been very good to me and my readership seems to tolerate the wild fluctuation in upload schedule, let alone the odd sex scenes I come up with.

It's a good question. I will definitely post for the Geek thing. I have a Valentine's story that came in late. I might hold that for next year. Other than that, I have around 20 stories finished and ready. And not posted.

It's occurred to me that I can easily turn them into books and maybe sell the occasional one for $$$ instead of a barrage of abuse—the downside to a free site. I'm putting more time into that concept nowadays.

I posted a couple of stories here because I was supposed to be about to die. That was almost 12 years ago now. I'm still posting stories. But my luck can't last for ever. :)

Probably about as long as I'm posting erotic stories anywhere, although my main period of activity here was pretty concentrated during a couple of years. I've posted another one now (pending clearance by Laurel), though it was produced near the end of that period.

I would advise keeping your interactions with the forum to a minimum, personally, however long your engagement lasts. Trying to be The Big Man around these parts seems to have driven a few of us quite fucking nuts, meaning no disrespect to reliably positive souls like ogg and Tx and Simon.

Eh, I've got a dozen stories on the go that people here would appreciate.
I've got vague plans to publish an anthology and a novel on Smashwords by the end of the year, with a couple short stories to try to lure readers there. Mostly just to see what happens; if I ever get more than a fiver in royalties I'll be pleasantly shocked, and that would probably just be from friends' purchases.

Even in the unlikely event that takes off, I'd probably keep posting here, at least initial drafts.

I have been posting stories since 2002. I intend to continue until I die.

Lets see.... Today is Friday so....

I'll be around awhile since this is the fun place to post my stories written for fun.

Just to set the record straight, I was crazy long before I showed up here. :)

Like any hobby, as long as I keep enjoying it.

This.

Like ogg, I first posted in 2002, so coming up on two decades. My first posting was a fantasy that refused to get out of my brain. I thought if I posted it, it would be a one off and my brain would shut the fuck up. No such luck. The only hiatus was when I was terribly ill. After two years, I returned last year with a vengeance, whether anybody missed me or not.

So, let's see, I must have been lurking for a couple of years before I post my first piece here in 2004 or so, but that was under a different user name. And like Ogg, I plan on writing and publishing here until I'm dead and if they have the internet wherever I wind up, maybe even after I'm dead.

I've never stopped writing stories, pretty much since I first learned how to write. As for my adult material?

Before the internet became a thing, I wrote and sold erotica to magazines (remember those?) like Penthouse Forum and their ilk.

Before I found Literotica.com, I had a blog. Hell, that was before blogs were even called "blogs" as I remember it. It's funny how fast the internet changed things.

After pulling down those stories, I still wrote erotica just for the fun of sexy storytelling. I'd write for my wife, online friends, or just for the fun of writing.

Then I found Literotica.com. This September marks my 10 year anniversary. I can't imagine reaching a point where I don't feel like writing anymore, so I guess I'll keep posting as long as the site provides a user-friendly platform.

Thank you, Laurel and Manu!

AMEN...

I'm a relative newcomer and was having fun with this site then I had a stroke and that knocked the wind out of my sails for a little over a year but I'm back writing and posting again and will as long as the ideas keep coming and it remains enjoyable as was previously said.

My whole life. lol

But I do wonder what would happen if I have a full time job and a wife and kids someday. Then it'll be hard.

I've been 'online friends' (if you want to call it that) with many people over the years and they all move on. No hard feelings, I get it. But something they have in common is jobs, health, family. That's the reason they don't spend time on erotica anymore. Perfectly understandable.

That's partly what motivates me to write as much as I can. I know that someday I won't have as much time, so I want to make as many great stories as possible.
