My auto insurance agent sent me a quote from Flo. Rate is less than half of what I'm paying now.

Anybody have Flo's stuff? Good? Bad? Indifferent?

Insurance is everything in the lawsuit-happy USA... i’d think you want a carrier who stands behind its customers when they become Defendants.

Its all about subrogation and i don’t think anyone rates insurance companies based on their defence of claims.

I had Progressive for auto insurance for a few years and they were great to work with and on the affordable side. We had a serious car accident and Progressive was very good during that whole process. I switched to State Farm last year and am paying less for better coverage, though.

I had Progressive for a few years and had one claim that was handled well.

Watch the automatic renewals though. I caught them increasing my coverage to keep my rate consistent when it should have been going down, and now they're no longer my insurance carrier.

The thing with insurance is that they give you low low rates to start but keep increasing the premiums every year to make up for it. This applies to every company in that biz.

Some recommend that you shop/change carriers about every 5 years.

^^^This would be my fourth change in about 20 years.

I...have...Farmer's. Ba ta-da, ta-da, ta-DA!

All seriousness aside, I have home and auto bundled through them, their rates are okay but their customer service is, eeer, intermittent. Plus, they told me a few years ago when a deer ran in front of my car, causing me to hit it and damage the headlight, "Yer screwed. Collision insurance only pays if you hit ANOTHER CAR. If you hit a deer or a stationary object... it's there in the FINE PRINT." So yeah, I wasn't terribly impressed with that. I don't know what you'd get if you bought it from that annoying lizard guy, or Doug and his frickin' giant bird thing, but somehow I doubt it would actually be a better deal. Maybe cheaper though, I dunno.

USAA all the way.

All of those insurance company TV commercials and none of them do anything but try to be cute. They don't demonstrate much of anything concerning what they cost and what they'll do for you.

USAA has got yet back thru thick and thin. I’d never use another insurance company. It’s more expensive but you get what you pay for.

Flo died a couple years ago. A sweet yet tough woman. I liked her very much.

I hate Farmers , but their rates are literally 40% less the anyone else I have gotten quotes from since I switched to them 4 years ago. They buy market share when they open a new office and then steadily rise the rates yearly. As far as deer 🦌 damage goes that’s a add on here , we had it when we where up in the mountains , but have dropped it since moving closer to Atlanta.

The real bottom line is your credit report , that’s where the quote starts. As far as I’m concerned that whole industry is a organized crime syndicate.

Yep. You never know how good your insurance really is until you have to use it. Or you ask litigation attorneys - they will tell you which carriers never bother with subro, which will fold in negotiations, etc.
