Deplorable hero Matt Gaetz under federal investigation for sexual misconduct

Thoughts and prayers. (And I think the investigation started under the Trump regime. Ouch.)
 
The only senators who never sexually assaulted a woman = Bernie Sanders and Lindsay Graham.
 
I see Gaetz is denying the allegations and of course they may be untrue, but it's exactly the sort of thing I'd expect Gaetz would get involved in and given he's told so many lies in the past you'd expect him to lie about this true or not.
 
I have always been a major doubter of the QAnon belief that there are multiple high level officials in the government involved in c---- m-----ing, but it's beginning to look like they were on to something! Mea Culpa.
 
The silver lining for Gaetz on this is that the sex trafficking charge is linked to a girl. A few months ago he was being said to be parading around a boyfriend. :)
 
Just think Gaetz can't blame this investigation on Biden and his AG as Trump's AG Barr started it.

I'm guessing at one point the "good Germans" believed their "patriotic" Nazi leaders were decent human beings.

I dont know. Dude is fighting back pretty hard and saying some shit that is pretty far out there if it isn't true. I despise most politicians and almost never believe them but his defense is going far beyond the usual bullshit. In fact its comical enough I sincerely hope he is telling the truth.

Someone, somewhere, has surely already cooked up a detailed explanation of how America has lost its moral compass thanks to Biden and Harris, so how was Gaetz to know any better?

Matt Gaetz blew up FBI extortion case to distract from underage sex report, ex-DOJ official and NYT reporter suggest

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) did not deny Tuesday night that the Justice Department is investigating him for sex trafficking, related to his alleged sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl two years ago, but he did say in a bizarre Fox News interview that the 17-year-old girl does not exist, that he had no sexual relationships with minors, and, oddly, that there are no "pictures of me with child prostitutes."

Gaetz also elaborated on his allegation that a former Justice Department official was trying to extort him to make the "horrible sex trafficking allegations against me go away," naming the former official as David McGee, now a lawyer in private practice. McGee told The Daily Beast on Tuesday night that any reports of extortion involving him or his law firm are "completely, totally false," adding, "This is a blatant attempt to distract from the fact that Matt Gaetz is apparently about to be indicted for sex trafficking underage girls."

Katie Benner, one of the New York Times reporters who broke the story of the months-old DOJ sex trafficking investigation, told MSNBC Tuesday night that McGee — who she did not identify by name — is not involved in the investigation and suggested Gaetz is trying to deflect attention in a very odd, self-immolating way. "He is basically destroying and blowing up an FBI investigation" into alleged extortion against his family, she noted.

Gaetz, 38, got engaged to girlfriend Ginger Luckey in December, but he told Axios earlier Tuesday that "I have definitely, in my single days, provided for women I've dated. You know, I've paid for flights, for hotel rooms. I've been, you know, generous as a partner. I think someone is trying to make that look criminal when it is not." He added that he is "absolutely" confident none of the women were underage.

Until last year, Joel Greenberg was an ascendant political player in Seminole County, Fla., where he unseated a longtime incumbent in the race for county tax collector, won a political battle to allow his deputies to carry guns on the job and flaunted his connections to prominent Republicans with close ties to then-President Donald Trump, including Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) and Roger Stone.

But last June his reputation fell apart in spectacular fashion when federal investigators arrested him on stalking and child sex trafficking charges, prompting his resignation.

On Tuesday, the case against Greenberg, 36, gained national prominence after the New York Times reported that it had also sparked a separate criminal investigation into allegations that Gaetz had a sexual relationship with a teenage girl.

It’s unclear exactly how Greenberg’s criminal case is connected to the Gaetz investigation; Greenberg’s lawyers did not immediately respond to messages from The Post. But it is clear that the two men, who posed for a photo together outside the White House in 2019, had ties in Florida, where they both first gained power in the GOP around 2016.
