President Joe Biden’s infrastructure plan may include $4 trillion in spending and $3 trillion in increased taxes, according to a report released Monday.

The Washington Post reported that Biden’s infrastructure plan might include $4 trillion in new spending and $3 trillion in tax increases.

Members of the White House Economic Council reportedly remain worried about the increase in spending.

“The officials worried that the large gap between spending and revenue would widen the deficit by such a large degree that it could risk triggering a spike in interest rates, which could in turn cause federal debt payments to skyrocket, said the people familiar with the matter,” the Post’s Jeff Stein wrote.

Now, if the superrich just paid their share of the taxes--or even any taxes in many cases--to begin with . . .

If money is borrowed to stimulate the economy it also needs to be collected in taxes in order to pay it back. Simple math.

Since we have a trickle up economy, it needs to be collected where it accumulates, from those who collect the profits.

Do you have a better suggestion?

And where do those rich get EVERY SINGLE PENNY of profit and tax??

If money trickles up, then guess where are all those taxes coming from??

Money spent on infrastructure isn't money stuffed under a mattress somewhere. It's stimulus funding, replicating again and again as it goes through the economy and still ending up with useful, needed "things" at the other end that themselves go on servicing the needs of the economy.

The stimulus is paid for with borrowed money. Jeff Bezos, the Waltons, Elon Musk and all of the other kings and queens will have more income because of it. Unless you support the notion that government exists to make the elite more wealthy you should understand that they, as the ultimate benefactors of the stimulus, will need to pay a large portion of the tax that will need to be collected in order to repay the loans.

Again, do you have a better suggestion?

It would be interesting if our currency was all block chain digital and was able to be tracked. Then we would actually be able to see each transaction and know exactly where it ultimately ended up. Of course that would be an enormous violation of privacy and a huge big brother power grab...

Somehow the Internal Revenue Service needs to collect the money it has borrowed. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a current statistic, but it was not long ago that taxing 10% of the wealth of the wealthiest 10% would be more than taxing 100% of the wealth of the bottom 50%.

How will the National debt be paid if the wealthy do not pay most of the taxes?

Where do they get the money to pay their taxes Alex???

How do they get their billions every year? :D

Again, do you have a better suggestion?

Yea, everyone pay for their own shit.

Quit taking my money so some mooks can hand it over to Beezos. ;)

Trump was going to keep Syrian oil. That’s gotta be worth something.

Lol. So you’re one of the dumb fucks that believe that elastic currency is not partially responsible for the relative success of the USA.

Most businesses borrow money to make money. The country does that too. The trouble is that no one wants to pay it back. Wealthy US capitalists think they make all of their profits from their own sweat and smarts without giving any credit to the infrastructure that makes it possible.

Can't answer the question??

Just make random demonstrably false bullshit up.

Most businesses borrow money to make money. The country does that too.

Except the government doesn't make money.

So no it doesn't.

Total bullshit, wealthy US capitalist pay big fucking money all year every year that makes that infrastructure possible.

It's the non-taxpayers (the lower 47%) who don't appreciate it, I think if they started paying their FAIR SHARE....37% sounds about right....they just might.

NOW....back to the ORIGINAL topic you keep fucking avoiding like the god damn plague because you KNOW it shits all the fuck over your position.

Where exactly do all these mega-corporations and conglomerates get every penny of that tax you're so exited to hit them with??? :D

Where does EVERY business get it's money for taxes ??

Dementia Joe wants to raise highways three feet. He actually said this.

At least digging holes and filling them back up doesn't snarl the fuck out of traffic for months.

.
And the cost of doing nothing to address infrastructure???

Someone has never heard the saying "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure". It applies to Covid, infrastructure, social justice, healthcare, education, etc, and the long term cost benefits of investing now, when interest rates are low, will provide the economic stability necessary for America to "Build Back Better"..

What ever happened to MAGA??? Was that just a hollow slogan???

Of course it was.

If you're serious about infrastructure, repeal the requirement that environmental impact studies be done for every square foot of dirt covered up. That's why it takes years and years to build anything, and why so much of the money goes to dirtbag lawyers instead of into concrete and steel.
