The award recipients and nominees seemed quite diverse to me, but a number of the losers and un-nominated artists are alleging racism.

Maybe that's just the way it is now...sore losers and squeaky wheels get to hijack any agenda.

Beyonce threaded the needle quite nicely...she refused to perform, but showed up to collect her awards. How considerate!

It's as if you think no one has ever been ripped off.

It doesn't just happen in music. It happens everywhere. It happens all the time in sport. If it involves humans there's a very strong possibility it's rigged.

Do we think O. J. was actually innocent? No. Do we think some decisions are completely fucked because they are? Of course. Humans are fucked sometimes. That's not up for debate, that's a goddamn fact.

Good question. Nashville is still turning out some authentic music. Much of the lyrics are formulaic but the music is real and so is the vocal talent. Pop music is mostly shit these days so the 'judges' are left to pick the best of the turds.

The Grammys along with every other award show are immaterial. Eventually, their ratings will fall so low that it won't be profitable to broadcast them.

seems everything is racist these days...... I did not the play Hamilton at all and had spent over $200 a ticket for my husband and I to see it. But it seemed everyone I knew loved it so we went. I was telling a friend and she said that how could I not love it and perhaps I was turned off because there were so many blacks in the cast.
That pissed me off and I told her that art is personal and not everyone loves Monet either or The Godfather movies. Does that make them anti French or anti Italian?
Maybe his music just sucks. I did not like him at all on the Super Bowl. My daughters like his music but I cannot understand the words and the rhythm is not what I prefer. My choice. Not racist but I agree he sucks.

I don't enjoy Tyler Perry movies because the black urban experience doesn't resonate with me.

I enjoy Monty Python movies because university educated british humour resonates with me.

Not liking one or the other has nothing to do with "hate" of skin color, it's a cultural/entertainment preference.

If you're white and you enjoy anything that features Caucasian cultural heroes like Shakespeare, James Bond etc, then you're a racist.
