Will is in his Heaven today; Zoom chatting with our little 8 year-old niece in London and she told her uncle Will that they were supposed to name as many stars as they could for a class project, and she wanted to call her uncle Will so he could show her which one was the Death Star.

Will is now officially too smug to live with, and keeps reminding me why she's his niece first and foremost, she now knows Aunty Lori doesn't know what a Death Star is and had never hear of Jedi powers, Daisy Ridley, or what a Skywalker was, so she could only come to him for galactic wisdom from now on, because she's officially his Padawan Learner. First, this should be taking my new signature line out for a test drive.

Next, I am seeking help on deciding a category for a story.

It is a partner swap, but the couples are in different towns. The women are friends so they decide to swap for their boyfriends birthdays. So, one sleeps with her friends boyfriend in one city and the other sleeps with that friends boyfriend in another city.

The ladies decided we need an evening out so we went to one of our favorite local restaurants and ordered takeout. Italian food and a sunset over the lake. What more could you ask for. Dessert was marshmallows over a bed of coals as we cuddled wrapped in a blanket or two.

All in all, a great night out, pandemic or no pandemic.

She's 8 years old, Will leaves the cold, hard facts stuff to her dad, as far as he's concerned, there's a Death Star, she's a Jedi, and she gets to blow it up one day. He bought a movie prop lightsaber at a film memorabilia auction at Sotherby's some years back, he paid gigbucks for a piece of plastic, and he's looking forward to presenting it to her when lockdown's over; neither his daughter nor I deserve it because we're blasphemous unbelievers who mock The Force, like we care...

Tried to have a Zoom conference with my former colleagues in Oxford but Inuk the newfie-pup had other ideas, and what was supposed to be a learning session and comparison of notes turned into a debate about how much the participants wanted to acquire Inuk, and a vote on a scale of 1 - 10, 1 being 'I want him now' and 10 being 'watch your back lady, he's mine'. It's hard to diiscuss human vs commercial mitral valve prosthetic implants and keep focused when 45lbs of Newfoundland pup wants to stick his snout inside my blouse and nose around, but on the plus side, he earned 50,000 cutie-points, so not a complete loss...

Will flat-out refused to help, his comment along the lines of 'not my circus, not my monkey' was absolutely no help whatsoever, but at least now I know what my new 'resting bitch-face' looks like. As a reward for all his help and assistance, I told him his dinner is in the supermarket, if he hurries he can get there before it closes...

Spring is sure springing here. We reached 60F today, we're supposed to be in the high 60's tomorrow, and over 70 on Monday. I abandoned writing after about 9:00AM and spent much of the sunny day outside in a tee shirt, watering, and cleaning garden beds.

I haven't tried an avatar on my sig line, but if you go to the User CP menu (top left on the screen) and select "Edit Signature" and scroll down, there are instructions on how to include an image in your sig line.

I went through that process and it didn't work, so I used the url bbc code to insert an image that I'd already uploaded. That worked.

To do that, you need to upload your picture to Lit. Use the "manage attachments" selection at the bottom of the screen when you post a new image to upload an image. Once it's uploaded you view it, copy the URL from your browser, and paste it into the url bbc code.

Good luck. It might take some experimenting.

Breakfast was a "bowl" (not really in a bowl; in a take out container) roasted potatoes, scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage gravy. And two cups of decent coffee.

My internet finally got fixed (for the third time in 12 years, it was some problem with Verizon's equipment down the street). So I've been binge-watching Netflix, some of the shows that everyone else watched last year when they were supposedly on lockdown. But not Tiger King. No effing way am I watching that. [So far, it's been season 4 of The Crown, and Queen's Gambit]

I'll take recommendations if anyone has them, but only for Netflix and Hulu, I don't have any others.
