What Americans call English muffins bear no resemblance to scones.
 
There's a little bakery in Larne, down a narrow little back street, that does apple scones to die for.

That sounds great, I'm an apple guy. Fritters, etc.

I call them scones like the blue people on your map.
 
The Rolling Scones are pretty old now and most of the drugs are still gone.
 
No, you don't. You'd probably call the savory scones biscuits, and slather them in gravy. That's closer.

This, although we also slather them with honey or syrup, and sometimes spread jam all over them (not all at the same time).
 
Scones are not biscuits are not English muffins. How about a nice crumpet slathered with butter?
