Aniexty and depression

I just had a "friend" tell me to get off all my meds because he heard something on the radio. He was very sincere and told me all my meds were bad because he heard on the radio. Fuck man. I told him you have never seen me off my meds and I'm whole different person. It's like when you get cancer and somebody tells you if you felt differently about it you would be ok. Yeppers that's all you have to do.

Hang in there. One day at a time. That's how I do it. And sometimes, its like one hour at a time.

Some days are definitely a lot harder than others.

Yes they work but they aren’t a cure all. First off, they take a while to work. You have to be on them consistently for a week or two before you see a change. They don’t make you happy or unable to feel they just even you out a bit. Talk therapy can be a big help as well and the best approach is both of them together.

Meds do they work? So worried about asking my doc sigh. I feel too young to feel this way but I do. 26 female sigh make my brain stop haha

For women under 30, posting nude selfies on anonymous sex forums like this one is clinically proven to boost the mood*.

If you haven't already, might want to evaluate your lifestyle with regard to how you're treating your body and thus brain.

Cleaning up your diet and getting a solid 30 min of exercise every day can make a world of difference in the mental department for a lot of people.

Another thing....proper hydration. I know, you've probably heard it but it's not any less true and most people are chronically dehydrated and drinking sugary garbage all the time.

This isn't to say you shouldn't seek mental health services (MHS) if you think you need them, or that proper nutrition, hydration and exercise are a silver bullet cure all.

But they can go a long way towards helping if you're deficient in them.

Just something to consider adding to MHS treatment/therapy or something to try before or as you seek MHS.

This is actually great advice.

Medication is never the solution to mental health problems. If they do "work" for you, you'll end up a slave to them and this is how the pharmaceutical companies have you over a barrel.

You really do talk a lot of wank.

So how do you propose regulating brain chemicals without medication?

I'm in Britain here so I suppose this is a cultural difference. I have heard  that Americans do use prescribed medication a lot.

Not a cultural difference, just the difference between your layman's opinion and medical knowledge. Next you'll tell us how you got yourself off Valium cold turkey and found god.

Or that Covid is just a flu

Also, if someone says you're talking wank, you can reasonably assume they're from the UK. That is a cultural difference.
