Are these statistics talking about people that died FROM the Wuhan virus or died WITH the Wuhan virus?
Since the virus is real but the actual death rate is less than many other flu viruses this particular strain has the magical political ability to appear and disappear depending on the political needs of the moment.
In terms of a global hoax this is right up there with the flat-earth teaching.

Once again, as was the case in 2008, the Democrats inherit a complete mess left by a Republican administration. This mess will take a while to untangle, because it involves so many issues-- the pandemic, the related economic problems, the damage done to international alliances, the damage done to domestic affairs, and the extreme assault on facts and science.
This is a deep mess, but things are getting better just having the kooks kicked out of the White House and out of the majority position in the Senate.

I'm not convinced Trump was the only reason. There is also the social norm that encourages people to refuse to do anything that anyone in any semblance of authority even suggests you might want to do, simply because they can. Trump's ineptitude and the poor example he set were certainly part of the problem. But if Hillary Clinton were president last year and wore a mask everywhere, you can bet the deplorables would have been bound and determined to flout her example by refusing to wear one.

Trump is damn well the reason there are 500,000 Americans dead from it. I've asserted for the whole year that it's exactly the sort of challenge Hillary Clinton is good for. She would have come into office with contingency plans she'd helped devise and a staff dedicated to this issue she hadn't fired and wasn't going to undermine. There would have been deaths, yes, but not more than a fifth of those who have died. One thing is damn sure with Hillary Clinton. If she'd been president in December 2019, the problem would have been identified in December 2019 and federal plans would be in existence and being unrolled. You don't have to like Hillary Clinton one little bit to know there would have been 300,000 more people in the States alive for last Christmas than there were, because of . . . Trump.

Trump dismantled the state department and other agencies , crippling communications and cooperation between allies and adversaries alike, resulting in a delayed understanding of the Covid threat, and a delayed response domestically. The delayed response domestically was further exacerbated by Trump's lies and misinformation, as well as him effectively muzzling the experts. The messaging on Covid was pure Trump, and he admitted as much by saying he "ALWAYS" wanted to play it down.
Anyone who doubts that Hillary would have had a better state department and better diplomatic relations with everyone not named Putin is a moron. Those relationships would have helped with communicating the progress of the disease in Asia, as well as Europe, where Trump let America get blindsided from.
Could somebody have done better than Hillary??? Who knows.

I do like Clinton. I voted for her, and I wish with all my heart she had won. But you can bet the Ramone45s of the world would have steadfastly refused to do anything she said Americans ought to do, partly because they hate her that much and partly because of the aforementioned social norm.
Would the death toll have been as bad under her as it has been under Trump? Undoubtedly not. But I think it would still be higher per capita than most other countries because of that don't-tread-on-me mentality that's almost a religion for too many Americans.

I have no doubt she would have handled it. There would be a huge ineffective federal program to convince people everything possible was being done while we'd still be waiting for a vaccine. The media would be great partners and would inform the public the virus is no big deal and this many people die from the flu anyway. She'd be laughing with host on TV how fashionable masks are, and talking about how many people of color work for her administration. Keep living in fantasy land.
