I added some LZ tunes into my rotation a while back and I gotta say, I ain't all that impressed. I find myself skipping through tunes like When The Levee Breaks because it drones on and on and on and on ...... as does Ramble On and On and On and On .... And then there is Stairway to ...zzzzz, yawn ....

What the hell is up with The Battle Of Evermore and Achilles Last Stand??

That said, there are some good ones like No Quarter. Kashmir's not bad either.

in answer to the initial question: yes. substances make their music much more palatable, though. and you don't notice time passing.

Substances fucked Jim Morrison every which way but loose, but I can tolerate The Doors a whole lot more than Zepp.

i always thought zeppo was overrated. harpo, chico and groucho were hilarious, zeppo was just a schlub. i can see why they got rid of him.

Was Harpo the one with the little tooter horn? He may have made better music than Zepp.

They've had a lot of attention and examination of the past 50 years. A hollow, empty, overrated band would have been found out by now, but their music and vibe endures.

over rated? certain individuals in the group were, but then again Bonham was massively under rated (much like his son is now imho) have a look at Achilles last stand in the Knebworth set, Bonham drives it like a tank.

a better question might have been ''Zepp -over hyped ?'' having watched a documentary on TV today, it seems Zepp got all the attention from Atlantic and in turn Yes had minimal resources.

And Yes was/is a far better group. Though much of it is experimental, their music is more muisic that Zepps, which is largely noise.

I don't know, or care much about the people in Zepp, but Wakeman was classically trained and it show in his/their music. Same with Townsend in The Who's music.

I completely agree, Except on Wakeman who supports the wrong football team.

At the moment im listening to remastered version of the yes album from 1971 but remastered in 2003. I prefer my vinyl version though. (tony kaye on keyboards also)

- just looked at ticket prices for the 2021 tour - £60 each and its not even all the surviving members! mind you gates of delirium album in full...., offset only by that twat from the bugles on keyboards.

bonham was special. often times his right foot bass drum patterns were assumed to have been played on two drums because his kit had two kicks. it is what makes his patterns so interesting. his foot is playing with a 12/8 feel and his hands are in 4/4 with the rest of the band.

I love Zep but I never liked Plant's voice. They would have been so much better with Tom Jones singing lead.
