"Trump told McCarthy on the call, “Well, Kevin, I guess these people are more upset about the election than you are," according to Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Wash., and another Republican member familiar with the conversation."

"the president initially repeated the falsehood that it was antifa that had breached the Capitol," Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Wa., said in a statement posted to Twitter on Friday night."

Did Trump know what was going.on at the Capitol and that Pence and all Senators.and Congressman were in danger of violence....

The problem for Dems is that this has nothing to do with the actual impeachment charge. The charge is incitement of insurrection. Beutler’s account says the call took place AFTER the insurrection started, and that Trump refused to do anything to stop it. It’s impossible to incite a riot that is already under way. Even more impossible to incite one by doing nothing. Pelosi dropped the ball by not including a dereliction of duty charge or something like that. Might have gotten a few more votes on that one. Her impeachment trial remains on track for 0-2.

Yes and other sources also say, pre planning nullifies Trump from the ability to call for the Insurrection.

It is all a bunch of bullshit. Trump knew exactly what he was doing.

He is a master at innuendo and winks and nods...he has been doing it his whole life.

Like I said, it isn't a Democrat problem...they are calling him on it.

The Repubs are still walking the plank without any hope of surviving this.

Guess we’ll find within the next couple of days.

Lansing has been cited as a dress rehearsal.

When was the 'stand by' statement made?

The so called pre-planning was all done at his suggestion.

.
The house managers made their case.

Trump had been building the bonfire for years, and on January 6th the coward lit the match and then went to his bunker to watch it burn on T.V.

Pathetic

No. Everyone already knows Trump is guilty. It's laid out in public, based on what Trump said and did in public. Not a damn thing you and your other deplorables can do about it. Conviction or not in the Senate, that isn't really a trial of Trump. Everyone already knows he is guilty. That is a trial of Senate Republicans.

And there's not a thing that all of your squirming and attempts at slight of hand on this discussion board can do about Trump's guilt. :)

Yes, this is the best analysis of it....Senate and Senate GOP is in trial.

The Public Record

History will record this as a Presidential led insurection, with violence and death at the Capitol Building and with tacit support of Senate and House Repubs for both the Insurrection and the attempted denial and support of general election voter disenfranchisement.

It is hard to say why they don't see the long game in this and it's not the first time they haven't.
