Capitol riot Deplorables are financial failures, just like Lit Deplorables

Not defending them in any way, but...
If you feel like you've been denied your fair opportunities your whole life, that the system is stacked against you, then radical alternatives are more likely to appeal. It's predictable, and it's a symptom of an ailing society.

Good point... their frame of mind might also explain why they were financial failures in the first place. Like those people you see opening up a store in completely the wrong place or putting money into crazy schemes. It's like they checked out of reality

Maybe, or maybe constantly living with instability created that state of mind. Poverty can happen to anyone, regardless of virtue, and if you're not born wealthy then the odds are stacked against you.

I absolutely disagree with their conclusions on what the solution is, and I suspect lots of them just aren't very bright, but i can see how a person might end up where they are.

Kinda like the black folks. Which ironically, these same people downplay and deny.

A majority of the people arrested for Capitol riot had a history of financial trouble

That's an interesting read. Lots of Republicans chugged the party Kool-aid for years, and it turns out that "bein' a bit moar boot strappy" is not the answer to all the world's problems (see also: "AJ sez he doesn't need insurance, he has something better: a rainy day cash fund" and its sequel "AJ declared bankruptcy a few years back due to medical billz".)

Not that money and medical care from Uncle Sugar would assauge their collective butthurt. (think: BoBo).....to these folks, it's not enough for them to succeed, people not like them (aka #ThosePeople) need to suffer.

At teh end of teh day, it's all about preserving the White Patriarchy and teh Status Quo above all else.

Well, ya know, there were the ones that took a private jet to the 'party'. And the CEOs and retired military officers.

Interesting that the so many Deplorables are also pathological liars. ProudBoBo recently boasted that he made something like 80K on the GameStop stock scam.

Alternate reality is their fantasy land.

Yup, they're twisted. There's a lot of reactions to shitty circumstances. Addictions, gang crime, cult membership, revolution, genocide, terrorism, etc.

They don't downplay and deny, they just don't think "MOAR WLEFAR!!" is the answer to all problems.

Which OF COURSE makes them nazis.

Reminiscent of early-period AJ, who used to regales us with tales of his stock-pickin' prowess, after the fact.

AJ timed something like six market turns in a row...**** THAT George Soros!

They thought overthrowing a democratically elected government was the answer. Is that better or worse?

Violence is always worse than civil resolution.

But as you said, it's a symptom...not the problem.

Keep ignoring the problems? Don't be shocked when the symptoms get worse.

As it stands? Thing will get continue to get worse and I suspect we have a long way to go before they get any better.

MAOR LOCKDOWNS...but only for unimportant people (D)'s don't like. :D it's gonna get rowdy, summer 2021.

^^^More prophesies from the American Carnage cult. How's that second term going?

ProudBoBo will be sitting pretty, however, with his 80K of new earnings in fantasy world.

It was ramping up way before the pandemic.
Corona added fuel to a well stoked fire.

They are the most vulnerable to be taken advantage of by scapegoating, propaganda and what Nietzsche's
described as the "Uber Mensch".

It is worth paying attention in high school and college to your literature teachers.... something these Humpturds must have missed.

Lack of education and economic struggle go hand in hand...they were ripe for Humpty's big Lie!

Agreed.

*chuckles*

Well he did confirm the day he bought the 500 shares, and looking at the stock index, it did align with his said buying price.

However, on the day he said he had not yet sold them it slid under $240.00 a share, and has not risen over that value ( least to the last time I looked). So to have garnered his claimed gross of 84K, he either lied and had sold by the time he answered that he didn't sell.

Or he lied about how much he made, when he did sell...

Of course given his fleeting honesty with the truth, he may very well have never bought a single share....

A good article. This part jumped out at me:

"The roots of extremism are complex, said Haider-Markel.

“Somehow, they’ve been wronged, they’ve developed a grievance, and they tend to connect that to some broader ideology,” he said."

This holds true across ideologies. Scratch most radicals (right or left, political or national, religious or secular) and you'll find some major life disappointment and a fixation of blame on some external force, real or imaginary.

Often enough it's an imaginary interpretation of something with a basis in reality. It makes them kind of tragic in my opinion.

The road back from radicalism often starts with a sympathetic listener - so they have a sense of being sincerely heard.

One of the descriptions I've heard is that, for many radicals they're essentially cos-playing radicalism for the social reinforcement. Then, through an event or incident, they cross the line and the powers-that-be bitch slap them with reallity. For most of them, one incident is enough to snap them out of it. For others though, the punishment from radical behavior leads them farther in the rabbit hole.

Oh yea, 100%. Never let a good crisis go to waste.

Still, the elitist summery surrounding the covid lockdowns caused a mass triggering on the "Fuck it I got nothing to lose!!" scale.

And it's going to get worse.

And Trump was adding fuel and wielding the poker.

Exactly as elected to do...he did an OK job, could have been better.

And there goes Fuzzy with the lies.

Jesus you guys just can't help yourselves.

And there goes Fuzzy with the lies.

Jesus you guys just can't help yourselves.

Where is the lie?

You said you bought 500 shares at $72.00 each ( no I am not going to search out your post)

You claimed you sold them for 84K profit ( or was it 86K?) either way to make 84K you needed to sell at a value of $240.00. ( or greater)

On the day you stated you had your auto sell call set at $80.00, so you were not worried about the stock price falling, and had not yet sold, the stock price fell below $240.00 per share on that day.( again I am not going to search out this post either)

This is all recorded, both your posts and the stock index, so where did I lie?

I merely questioned your honesty...*chuckles* nowhere did I say you lied, now did I?
