Female Athletes

So last week President Biden signed an exec. order that allows trans males to participate in female athletic competitions. I was a high level track athlete and got a scholarship to college through being a state champion and winning numerous national events. Now high school girls are being beaten by these trans males in states where this is allowed. I also help coach and train young females who are now worried that they will not have the same opportunities as I did. And I share their concern. While they are elite like I was, there is no way they can beat a biological male who has similar training. So nearly 50 years of female athletic competition and advances will be affected to serve the needs of those few trans athletes. So what if others see this as an opportunity not just in track but perhaps basketball? That 6'6" male that would perhaps be going to a D II school could suddenly declare he now sees himself as female an now can play on his high school girls team. He would dominate the league and then would a D1 NCAA school recruit them for their women's team? Thus taking away a scholarship to an otherwise deserving female?
How far are we willing to go to pass laws that serve a few? And I am not against trans people in any way as I am bisexual. It is just a very slippery slope we are on that will have severe consequences especially for minority women who will now face competition they were not born to overcome from an athletic standpoint.

Terminology

With a topic like this, words mean things, so make sure you are using the right words. A trans male is a man who was assigned female at birth. So you are actually talking about trans women (women who were assigned male at birth).

I would also make sure you have data to back up your claim; how often has this happened so far?

And what's the slippery slope?

Finally, your last sentence focuses on minority women....why?

You are playing semantics to undermine a common sense argument from Annie. That is despicable. And it is symbolic of the entire movement to destroy women's sports.
Men are physically stronger and faster than women. Some guy says he is female and he will kill the competition, just like they have in cycling, boxing, swimming, wrestling, rugby and every other sport that trans have invaded.
Under 15 boys soccer team in Australia beat women's national team 7-0.
Hundreds of high school boys have faster 400 meters than most female world class athletes.
A female MMA fighter had her skull cracked by a very unapologetic trans dude.
Girls are being erased. Everyone knows this. Some of us care. Under Biden, women will lose and men will gain.
Oh, and minority girls will lose most bc they lose spots on teams and records and scholarships.
That's why.

First of all, it is happening in several states. I had two of my athletes have to run against biological males and they had no chance despite being superb female athletes. Second, the slippery slope is exactly what I said. more female athletes will lose places on teams or win competitions as more biological males engage competitions. If we want to base this on science, a male that identifies as a female will never have a period so that alone gives them an advantage as it is well known that this affects athletic performance. I used minority female as many of my athletes are minorities that use their sports to further their education and opportunities to attend college on scholarships. So they are disadvantaged even further. Again, to forget the years that women have been allowed to have their own teams, their own locker rooms and their own scholarships will be taken slowly away. It hurts my heart to see the look on the faces of my two sprinters that had no chance again bigger, stronger 17 year olds that are born with an XY chromosome genetic code yet are running against my athletes with XX chromosomes. It is trashing women's rights in my opinion. And to not even have a discussion about it with women athletes, coaches and athletic directors in this country is a damn insult. It is taking away MY rights and my daughters rights and my athletes rights. That is a slippery slope.

I think the solution here is new rules by the sports federations and/or whatever theme organizations. Rules that aren't centered on gender as such, but actually are creating more fairly defined competition classes in result. Yes, it can be seen as unnecessary brainfuck and cleverness, but that's how you deal with party dictate (fair or not on itself is a whole different question).

Nobody is "assigned" a gender at birth. A baby's gender/sex is observed and noted.

How did Trump improve trans rights and women’s sports? I missed that news.

Welcome back, Dumpington. I'd say we missed you, but, well, we didn't.

He didn't. Ladies sports were just fine as they were. Create a separate category if they want to participate but it is not fair to women to compete against biologically stronger athletes. This is not a Trump issue or a Biden issue ..... it is a women's issue. You do support a women's right to have a fair and equal playing field correct? In sports, in the workplace women deserve the right to have the same opportunity as a male. If you only look at one small segment of the population and feel they are the only ones with "rights" then we are pretty much fucked as a society. As a woman I deserve the same protection as a man or a transgender person. And as a former athlete I know how much it provided me as a woman to be part of a team where I learned the value of every person no matter their race, sexual preference, religion, gender or identity. We all worked together. And I am happy to work to allow a new and separate category for trans people to play sports. That is what we should be working for. The lack of discussion with female athletes about this subject is disgusting. And I thought this president wanted to bring people together.
I am done but just think about this for a minute.

No you didn't.

This could be settled by having all athletes be tested genetically and then compete as what the gene test says they are .I believe that this is recognised by the Olympic Association after doubts about Russian shot putters sex .

I think hormone levels and weight classes would make even more sense than genetics, as that can get messy with nonbinary people.

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2021/jan/22/transgender-athletes-joe-biden-executive-order
The order, which calls for a broader application of Donald Trump-appointed justice Neil Gorsuch’s majority opinion in last year’s Bostock v Clayton county ruling, mandates that every agency must act to ensure the enforcement of this new rule within 100 days of 20 January.

Crucially, it states the Bostock decision should also apply to Title IX, the federal law that prohibits discrimination in federally funded schools, in keeping with Biden campaign promise that his Department of Education would investigate and address any violations of transgender students’ rights.
Hey, if Neil Gorsuch supports it, it’s good enough for me.

So last week President Biden signed an exec. order that allows trans males to participate in female athletic competitions.

Can he actually do that? He certainly cannot dictate to International organizations. I would like to see the exact full wording that Biden signed, in preference to the clearly skewed interests of particular parties to the debate.

Even if he can, he wouldn't sign an EO that "allows trans males to participate in female athletic competitions". First, "trans males" isn't a real term. I'm guessing she meant "transmen," and they are men who are biologically female. They wouldn't want to participate in women's competitions, because they're men.

LOL...yea but they aren't male...because biology is real no matter how much the "progressives" stamp their feet and call it transphobic.

And that's not really the problem, because despite being a high risk for a woman to participate in most mens sports she's not going to be shoring the boys on their achievements anytime soon.

The problem is men competing in women's sports and men coming in and destroying them. Not that you would care about women being abused like that. :D
