4th Impeachment Trial In U.S. History To Be Presided Over By Career Democrat Leahy Not Justice Roberts…

Because Roberts doesn't want to. Since Trump is no longer the sitting president, the Constitution does not require the Chief Justice to preside over the trial.

Trial...LOL..it's not a trail, it's partisan theatre and anyone with a shred of honesty knows it.

Let's impeach

Obama

As soon as the (R)'s take congress back they need to spend the whole time they have the reigns of power absolutely shitting on (D)'s. One after another just impeach them all simply because they can and it makes their voters happy.

They won't though, they never do anything, except act like Democrats from 5 years ago and in the end give in to everything the left demands of them.

LOL...fuck most Republicans too, they're just (D)'s with an (R) in front of their name. I'm fucking shocked the Bush family hasn't come out supporting federally mandated "White, male, heterocisnormative scum are the WORST!" classes twice a day every day for all children ages 6mo-18 yrs old. and 5 times a day for military/police.

The Democrats have already admitted they don't have the votes.

This whole thing is a waste of time. The Senate has to drop everything to deal with this.
Am I the only one who thinks that there are more important things to do other than this?

He lost. End of story. Move on.

On the other hand, I can see why Democrats are nervous, too many times we have seen with them
that losing is not a disqualified, but the path to respectability and gravitas.

They might actually think that by losing, he's "winning..."
So much winning.

So one of the jurors is also going to be the judge in a trial to remove from office a man who's no longer even in office? Sounds legit.

If Trump’s just a citizen, then he should be tried by the DC District Court.

I believe that they have a suitable holding cell in the courthouse basement.

Giving the Senate two weeks to prepare was the worst thing to do. There is giant repubican press on to makes sure there are not seventeen repubican votes for Impeachment. I think the democraps have cut their own throat.
As for any "discipline" of insurrection instigators in the House and Senate I have heard the democraps are only planning to "target" them in the next election  I hope I am wrong.

The democraps are always accommodating and it cost them every time. Moscow Mitch had asked for three weeks until the trial and when Schumer offered two he jumped at it.

I hate the fucking democraps almost as much as I hate the Pukes.

Two more weeks of daily reminders of the siege on their workplace, their staffs, their colleagues and themselves. Two more weeks of increased security, metal detectors, and National Guard checkpoints. Two more weeks of pressure from constituents and donors.

Would you like to site for the class where the Constitution discusses the requirements of impeaching a non sitting President who is now a citizen?

The fire will not be as hot in two weeks.

Yea, I didn't think so.

He was still the president when he was impeached.

Our "constitutional conservatives" here sure don't seem to know much about the document.

That's the whole point: the Constitution has requirements for the impeachment trial of a sitting president, not for an ex-president. So there is nothing illegitimate about Leahy presiding over the trial.

Trump was a sitting President when he was impeached, both times.

The question here (or rather where the usual suspects wish there were a question) is over the impeachment trial, not the impeachment itself.

That being said, it obviously is no longer an impeachment trial and nothing about it is legitimate. I suppose you can call it anything you wish but in reality this is nothing more then a political sham.

Double talk.

Because impeachment is a mechanism for removal not a dog and pony show to appease Pelosi’s narcissistic delusional personality.
