Parties in America encompass a broad set of ideologies, they are essentially big tents with multiple smaller undefined parties inside of them.

The reason they are like this is because there are two roughly even parties, if part of a party splinters off it essentially fucks that party because they will then not have the votes to overcome the other big party thus there is pressure to stick together.

The risk I see here though is this: those people are trying to hijack a powerful brand with wide following with is mindboggling uninformed -- actually misinformed and disinformed -- and even besides of that, brand loyalty is very powerful thing. Brands can get killed and discredited, but it's relatively slow process.
