The state of California is running exclusively by Democrats. They hold their House and Senate by large numbers and currently have the Governor’s seat. They run every facet of government including the state insurance commission.

The California Department of Insurance letter they state:

"in an individual diagnosed with gender dysphoria, who is born with female characteristics and identifies as male, the presence of a female chest is an abnormal body structure caused by gender dysphoria, which is a medically recognized condition within the meaning of Insurance Code section 10123.88."

A female’s breast can be considered “an abnormal body structure”?

Reality is reality. They did take the position described in the OP. Please explain what makes their relating truth "fake"?

Abnormal only for those with dysphoria, not the entire state. The thread title is absolutely false.

Cool.

Since there are people born with both male and female characteristics (I’m not one of them) there are times when a doctor and the parents opt to make ‘adjustments’ to a child. There are also situations that come up during and after puberty where males grow unwanted breasts. It can be due to genetics or side effects to medications or other odd causes.

Without this ruling, if your teenage son happens to grow a pair on his chest, your insurance could deny coverage for the procedure.

It’s not as far fetched or as uncommon as it may sound, after all, how many guys would admit to such a condition?

But go on. You found a great talking point to trash California. Two Q-points for your trolling abilities.

Resperidone is one of the most commonly prescribed antipsychotic medications given for bipolar disorder. One of its known side effects is breast growth. A young bipolar male with abnormally large breasts just might have some dysphoria.

Insurance companies exist only for altruistic reasons -- because they want to help people, right? They would never dispute a valid claim, would they? Lol.

I'm completely digested by any other notion. ;)
