Give or take, the percentage of mixed marriages in this country is about 12%. So why is it that approximately 88% of TV commercials show mixed couples?
 
i've noticed that too...do these companies think it will make their products sell better?

The purpose of a commercial is to sell something.

Perhaps they're trying to sell the concept of a mixed marriage.

Mixed marriage is the norm ,one man and one woman .
Other variations are now acceptable .

Also, a lot of unmarried people are in interracial relationships.

To gain full control over the masses the left needs to stir up division about anything and everything. Then they run in and claim that they are the ones that will champion the cause of all the people that they have stirred up.

So, they like racial division or gender division or ANY division. But in the end the real long term goal is to destroy the middle class and make the masses into a muddle where there is nothing distinctive about anyone. The goal is to have a ruling class and everyone else is a carbon copy of everyone else.

For that reason they want to blur all of the races into one blob. What you see in commercials on this topic is only one of many things that are woven into commercials and TV shows to gradually manipulate the minds of the mindless masses. They are very good at it and it is working. Of course communist China is fueling a lot of these businesses and governments and working in the background to reach their long term goals of total global control.

Just Marketing

Having worked for a company known for its marketing (not in marketing - but responsible for keeping it somewhat under control accuracy-wise) - there is nothing sinister about it - but definitively an attempt to be PC and attract attention. Most marketing departments in these large consumer companies are full of recent marketing grads - these companies chew them up by the hundreds and only a few survive more than a few years and enter management. (The rest go off to smaller companies and other jobs with a nice "notch" on their resume.) So the current ads reflect the tendencies and biases of Gen-Z worker-bees and their 30-something Millennial bosses.

As we used to say when we technical specialists and our friends in the law department sat down to review ads and shook our heads at some of the stupidity we saw - we are all well over 40 and not the target audience.

I have taken to counting the number of white males in ads just to pass the time during TV ads. it's definitely a noticeable change from the past - as most white males seem to be stay at home fathers taking care of the kids or are "the stupid character" in the ad. I am definitely still not the target audience.

It's just a noticeable changes - and I say not a good change since it would be nice if marketing just stopped treating any particular sex or race as the "the stupid one".

I had a couple of those.
