Van Der Graaf Generator : H To He Who Am The Only One

This and Pawn Hearts are among my all-time "desert island" albums

1. Architecture & Morality - Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark
2. Junk Culture - Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark
3. Organisation - Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark
4. Dazzle Ships - Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark
5. Crush - Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark

Needed some 80's flavor, so done with the garbage polluting the music arwaves right now; 'Maid of New Orleans', 'Joan of Arc', 'Tesla Girls', 'Enola Gay', 'Locomotion', 'Genetic Engineering', all fab tracks that made up the soundtrack of my 80's.

Edit: Found this one I'd completely forgotten about, and I don't know how that happened:

The new Soilwork album. (something something Atlantic)

... and as much as I like them, they have gone too far into "song part roulette" mode. Off the last album, I remember only one song (the mighty Stålfågel), this time it's zero - after five or six spins. I do recall some killer grooves, some interesting acoustic moments and melodic bits and pieces, but no full songs. Which is a shame. Maybe splitting his song ideas between Soilwork and The Night Flight Orchestra wasn't Björn Strid's best idea. It's not a bad record, mind you, it lacks a clear cohesive line and those killer hooks they had up to "The Ride Majestic". For me it's just a jumble of blastbeats broken apart by a few moments of structure and that's not why I listen to these guys.
