My first series on Lit was LW, and for a while I revisited the genre, posting twenty stories in the category. After my divorce, they faded away without conscious decision on my part. Oddly, the stepdaughter vibe continued til 2015.

Now, it seems it has been nine years since my last effort in that category, Forgiveness, which frankly fared poorly - I don't know if it is because my effort at capturing a specific vibe failed, or if that vibe was just unpopular.

In any event, I have not submitted to LW since. I don't think it was a conscious decision. My stories still feature a lot of married folks fucking others, happily.

should I put a specifically LW plot into the pipeline?
If so, what should I use as a hook?

(Don't say tentacle monsters- just because I'm currently obsessed with them doesn't mean that I think I can do them justice. Mind you, a LW fucking their pet TM would be an interesting twist- hubby of course tolerates it because it's not like she's fucking another HUMAN guy... )

In nine years the readership of LW has changed a lot. There are now two main faction, the Burn the Bitch crowd is vile woman hating... anyway, the second faction is the Reconciliation at all Costs crowd who aren't as vile nor hate women.

It was just about the time you wrote your last story that the woman haters started to pop up and only want husband and wife stories with no cheating or extra curricular activities. They just wanted milk and cookies with no excitement.

I have written both types and a few in between and have always been 1-bombed to oblivion in the first week or so. After that the scores come up a little yet never close to what I first got when I started writing in that category.

Oh and if you put a TM in there you will probably get comments about "This should be in Sci-Fi."

I think if you post in LW you do so knowing that your score is going to be low by the hateful anonymous crowd. If you don’t care about your ratings, then post away. It’s clearly (I think) the most popular category, but the scores never are indicative of the stories’ quality.

Look at GeorgeAnderson. He posted a MAGNIFICENT story called “February Sucks”, which has been so inspiring at least a dozen people have written their own versions of it. It’s one of the best stories I’ve read, but it’s rated under 4.00.

The only time I post in LW is when I'm tired of low response levels to my other stories. I know I can stir the shit in LW and get lots and lots of replies. Hypoxia Smurf posted a few pieces to LW with varying returns. Hypoxia Smurf is unlikely to do so again. An alt posts there now so Hypoxia Smurf's other tales won't be targeted for one-bombing. Moral: If you care for your reputation, hide behind an alt.

NOTE: In Hypoxia Smurf's best-scoring LW piece, which once even scored over 4.5, the cheaters were swept away by a mudslide, so any BtB action was due to divine will. Thus the cheated-upon were not to blame. Hint: Have your cheaters carried away by devils.

In any event, we seem to have wandered far afield from developing some inspiration for me to get rolling on a story, you know- an actual story idea.

I accept that I contributed to that, but once we got past the first couple of replies here I honestly was hoping for a nudge in the right direction.
