U.S. prosecutors investigating potential White House 'bribery-for-pardon' scheme

The U.S. Justice Department is investigating a potential crime related to funneling money to the White House in exchange for a presidential pardon, according to court documents unsealed in federal court.

Anybody else not surprised?

Would/could/should this (if true) be grounds to void any affected Pardons?

As impeached ex president trump said, he is running a 3rd world country. This just seems to reinforce his point.

If this is about Marc Rich, all I can say is that it's about fucking time.

Well duh! Who on earth ever thought trump would give anything without some payola? Of course he would use his pardon powers as leverage. This is the same guy who admits in a national press briefing that he would absolutely welcome dirt on political opponents from foreign adversaries, saw nothing wrong with it, had to be corrected by White House staff.
