What's Now at Stake Is The Rule of Law

Those of us who followed events in November and December of 2000 are experiencing déjà vu. Those events culminated in the Supreme Court’s decision in Bush v. Gore 531 U.S. 98 (2000), when a majority of the justices ruled that George W. Bush was the winner of the Florida election, thus handing him the presidency to him.

So what is your point? That Biden will win any legal challenge and be declared the winner by the supreme court? I hope you're not really suggesting that the donald has a snowball's chance in hell of overturning this election with a legal challenge. Come to think of it, wasn't that your mantra for 4 years, that the Dems were trying to overturn an election decided by the people? Really? Really, really? FFS.

Bush was the one ahead in the count. Trump is behind.

Bringing a lawsuit in one state was incredibly expensive. He would have to do it in about four to five states. His campaign is broke.

And lastly anyone who supported or supports Trump doesn't have much of a leg to stand on when they are talking about law and order.

Perhaps, just perhaps, you should spend some time reflecting on the reality of choosing to support a really shitty person, candidate and president.

I find it quite humorous how these right wingers are incapable of thinking for themselves...all they can do is sit back and wait for their sources to blog away. Then, and only then, do they have anything to say...and amazingly...it is almost word for word what their blogger sources say.

bush v. gore was based in one state with a very narrow margin. the supreme court did not decide who was the winner, they put a time limit on vote counting. bush was ahead at that time.

WHAT THE FUCK?

ROFLMAO!

Trump supporters give a shit about the rule of law now? How unbelievably fucking precious!

Trump can try, but he cannot litigate his way into a second term.

He lost, fair and square.

I don’t think you understand how the “rule of law” works. I recommend you actually read the Bush v. Gore opinion before attempting to imply it would invalidate the current election results. But I get these opinions can be lengthy and full of legalese that no one enjoys so I’m providing one law professor’s breakdown of why/how Trump’s claims don’t really fit the Supreme Court’s interpretation.

Can and will Trump subvert it?

It worked for you for almost 4 years so maybe we'll give it a shot. Biden should be impeached for money laundering!!

One problem at the time...:)

Let's look at that for a moment, shall we? What happened to Hunter's laptop? Where is it? It kinda' fell out of view. I wonder why. And what happened to all that damning evidence that Giuliani gleaned from Ukraine on his infamous investigation trip? Wouldn't it have served them well if it had been made public BEFORE the election? So what happened to it? Where oh where is all that (missing in action) evidence that Biden was doing nefarious deeds? There has never been ANY concrete facts or evidence presented to back up ANY of the accusations made by the donald and his cohorts against Biden. None! Zip! Zilch! Nada! Yet you and your side yell "lock him up"? That's the rule of law you're talking about? Jailing someone on unsupported allegations because they are a political opponent? And you can blithely spout your support for "the rule of Law", try to insinuate you support such? FFS

Well, you take a look at it, Obama, Clinton and Biden, the Trinity of corruption! They own the deep state! The left media has pulled the wool over your eyes and you leftist are too willing to look the other way. That is Sad! The left is quick to dole out justice but what’s ironic is it’s the right that’s always on the receiving end. Willful ignorance sooner or later will catch up.

Trump will keep these litigation threats going for as long as his litigation fund contributions keep flowing in. He will then abandon the fight, and pocket the funds.

Amen. Another of his cons. Running as rule of law president while actually trying to subvert it.

Trump never subverted the law, he tried to defend against a corrupt DOJ. Clinton tried her best to promote a Russian conspiracy. Nadler and Trump were enemies since 1984 and took the ball and ran with it, strictly a revenge ploy.

Direct from "I don't carry water for Trump"....sure you don't Ican...you are just fucking head over heels in love with the guy...but he lost....

Here have a flower to cheer up with.......:rose:

Funny time for you to start worrying about the rule of law......( yah others have also point this guys hypocrisy out but I get my say too!!)

If I were "rigging" an election and everyone thought it was going to be a Blue wave you can bet your ass I would have made it one instead of counting pennies one way or the other.

He's already doing that.
