Excerpts:

While Trump reached the "phase one" trade deal with China in January, experts were skeptical that the big purchase commitments would be met. China is still expected to come up short on its promise. As of August, Beijing had bought just $11 billion of the $36.6 billion it has promised.

But China's economy is picking up steam as it continues to dig its way out of the turmoil caused by the coronavirus pandemic, and the country restarted buying American soybeans just in time for this year's fall harvest. That's great news for farmers -- and for Trump.

Yes, both China and Russia want to see the U.S. go down the tubes with Trump.

It goes to show that neither country fears the might of the U.S. military if there's a feckless President at the helm.

or they need to feed its people!

Jesus you people are stupid. Look at the price per bushel here vs the rest of the world. The price here just hit a 2 yr high based on China's purchase. A little over $10/ bushel. This is still $5 less than the average price seen under the Obama Administration. Now add in the weak dollar. It makes total sense...China is hedging their bets. But they are buying more from Brazil...almost double what they buy here. Trump decimated the US farm market. There was only a couple choices for farmers...take lower prices. Or store them. Well...they can only store so many.

Dribble doesn't know what he's talking about, just spewing more "Orange Man BAD!!" stupidity.

The US market is strong AF, especially at the local level with all the covid (D)erps trying to starve as many people as they can because lefties always starve as many as they can.

If you can't make money as a farmer because the federal government isn't making your sales for you then GTFO....go get a basic bitch job and cry for 15/hr

There is no US market in Soybeans. Only a Socialist Subsidy system instituted by the Trump administration. Paid for by US taxpayers. :D

He is too stupid to realize over 60% of US exported soybeans used to go to China. This is roughly 25% of the total US crop. If the US market is "strong as fuck", why are farmers producing 25% extra?

So true.

Although, when they collect their welfare checks it's different from when out of work people in other occupations collect theirs. Because, you know, something, something.......

SAD!!!

I wonder...what happens to the price when you produce too much? That's right dimrod boy...it falls. Until the Govt steps in to subsidize it by giving money to the producer. You know...socialism by Trump isn't socialism. Too bad he destroyed market.

JTrump decimated the US farm market.

More to the US "farm market" than soy....again, Dribble doesn't know what the fuck it's talking about.

And you might want to look up the word "socialism" you don't seem to know what it is.

The fact of the matter is that Communist China cannot feed itself, which is why we have them in a bad place, and our farm economy is doing just fine. And in even greater stupidity, economically, a commodity like soybeans is fungible. A weak dollar is not always a bad thing; you should study economics before popping off on economics.

"But the US soybean industry may be in jeopardy: On Thursday, a report stated China has halted imports of American soybeans amid the escalating trade war with the US."

This seems to be a pretty complex issue that you have tried to portray as a simple cause and effect. In discourse, this is pretty much a form of fallacy in the form of, I washed my car which caused it to rain.

Here is how complex it is.

1) Trump imposed tariffs.
2) China laughed and said, "We will buy more soybeans from Brazil.
3) The US farmer lost their market share.

China holds all the "trump" cards. How do you get back lost market share? Produce a better product. Well soybeans are soybeans...this will do nothing for the farmer. Or you can sell your product for less than your competitors. The price per bushel means little if your debt outweighs any price offset. That is known as a break-even point.

What a crock of shit. China is buying all the food it can because they're beginning to starve over there.................or haven't you been reading the news?

Look for pork purchases to skyrocket as well.

And these purchases have NOTHING to do with the Wuhan Flu. They have everything to do with the fact that those crops that weren't flooded out were eaten by locusts. Throw in the fact that their pork production has been decimated by a swine virus.

And if you believe that China's economy is "roaring" back, I've got a bridge I'll sell ya.

Yes, this is correct. Stupid political folks...makes sense to them only because it's their guy....when looking at the numbers they don't add up to anything that is decent for the US.

China has done this kind of stuff for two thousand years. They are a smart Country and they know how to take care of their citizens..unlike the USA where it's citizens are viewed as labor for Capitalist and not worth much else.

So did Stalin, Hitler, and Pol Pot.

So did Trump and one could make the same case about it here...the System here in the USA...

We have a vast impoverished underclass

Segments of that under class are victimized by this System and sent to prison and in massive numbers

The system seems to work better for a few who to the party line(which is alliance to a two party State)

I will grant you, your examples are compelling and the details are unique to Stalin, Hitler and Pol Pot. I am not advocating going that route for sure.

The subject though is. China and the trade issue. China has changed since Moa and has now fully embraced a State sanctioned Capitalist model for trade though it still has remnants of Communism and suppression of press and aspects of free speech suppression. None of which I endorse.

You should conduct better due diligence. Your responses make you look out of touch with current events:

Brazil replaces purchases previously obtained from U.S.:

"China’s soybean imports in June from top supplier Brazil soared to a record high....

The world’s top soybean buyer brought in 10.51 million tonnes of the oilseed from the South American country in June, up 91% from 5.5 million tonnes in the previous year, data from the General Administration of Customs showed. The June figures were also up 18.6% from May imports from Brazil at 8.86 million tonnes.

China’'s overall soybean imports in June were a record 11.16 million tonnes as Chinese processors also made the most of lower Brazilian prices as better weather facilitated exports.

China brought in 267,553 tonnes of soybeans from the United States in June, down 56.5% from 614,805 tonnes in the previous year. Imports fell 45.6% from 491,697 tonnes in May."

"They're beginning to starve over there":

"Some Chinese crushers in the south were struggling with bulging inventories due to arrivals of beans, while heavy rains and flooding in recent weeks curbed demand from the animal farming sector.

"Look for pork purchases to skyrocket as well."

"Crushing plants in the north are doing better thanks to demand from the recovering pig herd, according to importers."

Our "vast impoverished underclass" lives better lives than most of the world, not to mention, they are not a static class; the United States enjoys economic mobility and no one is relegated/sentenced to a permanent "class." In short, the system is not creating millions of Jean Valjeans. If you end up in jail or in poverty, in the United States, short of mental impairment, it is entirely upon you, not the system. And, unlike most of the world, we do a pretty good job of taking care of the aforementioned group. Could it be better? Yes. Is it the stuff of 90% of the rest of the world? OH HELL NO!

At least you acknowledge we have an underclass...that is a good start.

Here is how complex it is.

1) Trump

You should have just stopped there, the rest of it was just fluff.

You don't really know what you're talking about, you're just screaming "ORANGE MAN BAD!!!" and that's it.

We have a vast impoverished underclass

We have a small impoverished class because not everyone makes the best choices.

IN a free and liberal society there will always be a group of poor people.

Segments of that under class are victimized by this System and sent to prison and in massive numbers

They aren't an underclass nor are they victimized by any system.....you're INSANE.

Yes, yes, yes. The CCP NEVER lies about it's economy. Even as their semi-conductor industry has been decimated and manufacturer's are fleeing the nation and establishing alternative supply chains.

Meanwhile the CCP has started a crackdown on "food wastage" and is prosecuting restaurants that serve greater than CCP approved portions.

The CCP is like lawyers, if their lips are moving they're lying.
