China votes Trump, begins to buy soybeans ahead of Election Day

All societies include an underclass, but ours generally encompasses subgroups such as the mentally, or physically impaired, which we do strive to take care of, especially by the good works of the private sector, the young adult, the elderly, the new immigrant, etc. With the exception of the elderly, who should have taken care of themselves in their life, but who we also strive to provide for, all eventually experience upward mobility and enjoy the ability to raise themselves from your "underclass." The difference between us and much of the rest of the world is that we allow that mobility, the low may rise, the high can fall, and we do not condemn a person born into a class to remain in that class. In short, if you have any sort of ambition, then you will better yourself in our system. If you have no ambition, you are not a victim of the system, you're just lazy and content to be in an "underclass." We have all known people like that in our lives.

I see "undercass" as in a caste system, second rate citizens without or with fewer rights.

We don't have one of those despite the lefts best attempts to make it sounds as though we do...ya know, because gotta smear the USA at every opportunity. That's how "progressive" 'patriots' show their love of country.

We just have poor people. That's not an underclass, they are just poor.

Communism won't fix that no matter how much the "progressives" stamp their feetsies that it will.

Yes, yes, yes. The CCP NEVER lies about it's economy. Even as their semi-conductor industry has been decimated and manufacturer's are fleeing the nation and establishing alternative supply chains.

Meanwhile the CCP has started a crackdown on "food wastage" and is prosecuting restaurants that serve greater than CCP approved portions.

The CCP is like lawyers, if their lips are moving they're lying.

*chuckle*

Currently, only 16% of the semiconductors used in China are produced in the country, and only half of those are made by Chinese firms, according to a report by the Center for Strategic and International Studies. In other words, the country is still reliant on foreign, largely American, technology.

China is not a manufacturing hub for Semi conductors, so who exactly is leaving China?

China is a leading supplier of rare earth metals for the semi conductor manufactures though, maybe that is where you get confused....

Why do you think manufacturers left the USA to move to China?

There are many factors in play regarding the question of doing business in China. The first one is increasing labor costs. Between 2011 and 2016, labor costs in China increased by 64%. They climbed again by 30% from 2016 to 2020. Even before the US imposed tariffs on imports from China, labor-dependent companies were leaving the country. In particular, apparel manufacturers were moving in substantial numbers to countries like Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, where the labor costs are one-seventh of those in China.

Because manufacturing always looks for the cheapest labour....

Last, food for thought....

Almost half of our food is wasted in the United States. How does this happen? What can we do to solve our enormous food waste problem?
