That 'booming' economy?

Trump claims jobs are doing ‘very well’ — despite huge unemployment and eviction rate

Donald Trump tweeted Sunday that the job market is doing “really well,” despite millions of Americans out of work and nearing eviction or foreclosure.

“Our Economy and Jobs are doing really well. Next Year will be a Record Setter. Stay Tuned!” tweeted Trump on Sunday afternoon ahead of Labor Day.

t is a tragic example of a president too out of touch with the struggles of everyday Americans. While many of Trump’s fans took their high-priced boats to celebrate the president on waterways across the country, others were packing their apartments after being evicted.

So far, South Carolina has been among the worst states in the country for evictions, with what is being described as a “tsunami,” that experts expect will hit records.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported heartbreaking numbers showing unemployment is twice what it was when turned over to Trump in 2017.

TRUMP'S ALMA MATTER, THE WHARTON SCHOOL OF BUSINESS SAID,
"Biden's economic proposals would create a faster growing economy, higher wages for American workers and reduce the debt compared to where the United States is headed under President Donald Trump."

In addition to that, 13 Nobel Prize-winning economists endorsed Joe Biden, saying that Biden's economic agenda will improve our nation's health, investment, sustainability, resilience, employment opportunities, and fairness and be vastly superior to the counterproductive economic policies of Donald Trump."

Also, Moody's Analytics said Biden's economic plan "would create 18.6 million jobs in his first term...7.4 million MORE jobs than Trump's first term, and would create 66% MORE jobs in the next four years!"

But, you know, that's just if you want the American economy to improve.

If you want wages to remain low and unemployment and poverty to remain high, stick with Trump.

Trump haters will say anything.

This is trumps economy, trumps America.

He fucked himself "playing it down" (anti science)... don't panic THE STOCK MARKET.

Other countries did not play it down and the citizens "did not panic." I guess because their Leader didn't scream, "We're All Going To Die." What a moron trump is.

204,000 dead in the US and counting. Still no leadership at the top. In fact trump doesn't even mention it unless pressed to say SOMETHING. What a moron trump is.

America with 4.5 percent of the Worlds population and over twenty percent of the Worlds deaths.

trump is such a failure.

More Americans filed for unemployment this year than voted for Donald Trump in 2016.

Is this what a "booming economy" is supposed to look like?

No, that's why the blue states should stop doing everything they can to destroy the economy up to and includign the flagrant and deliberate violation of peoples civil rights.

D's are a bunch of jackbooted thugs trying to start a civil war because they can't cope with democracy not always going their way.

For those of us without a (D) bootheel on our throats, the economy is BANGIN kid, best year I've ever had. Let's hope (D)ickheads with a bad case of wealth envy don't ruin it for me.

Soooo you have no clue what the USA is, and don't understand that it was INTENTIONALLY designed to be as decentralized as possible so the guy at the top didn't have much of any power.

You don't know that there are states and they are quasi autonomous mini-nations of their own who control public health policy.

Aaaaand you've clearly never read the 10th amendment.

Not at all shocking you're as "progressive" as you are.

Did you go to school in China or some shit?? Or did you just never pay attention to your remedial history/civics classes?

You should get a 5th grade level education Cox......you'd embarrass yourself less.

OK... So if what you are saying is factual, then it follows that Trump cannot claim any credit for the economy when it is being successful.
Seems to me that if he claims to be the cause of its success then he has to take the blame for its failure.

Largely yes, the POTUS has little to do with our economy.

Essentially all control over that is done by congress and even that is rigged to keep it decentralized. Another reason why "progress" just isn't going to be supported in the USA, the government is pretty much forbidden from taking control of the means of production and distribution of goods and services. It's anti-American.

Seems to me that if he claims to be the cause of its success then he has to take the blame for its failure.

Yes, we know you're an "Orange Man BAD!!!" NPC.

But that doesn't make the economy something the POTUS controls.

That makes perfect sense to any rational human being.

Then again, FecesFan is not a rational human being so......

Yea if they have their head up their ass.

Where have I not been rational???

Oh that's right, I have been rational, that's why I reject "progress" for the known failure that it is and you can't argue in it's favor on it's merits. :D

Eliminating burdensome regulations and lowering corporate tax rates to be competitive overseas has allowed corporations to thrive and expand, couple that with the USMCA has sparked economic growth, congress needs to be part of the solution. Many economist agree that lower interest rates also aided in economic expansion. As the labor market tightens to full employment lowering unemployment rates becomes more difficult. All bets are off if Biden gets in, increasing taxes isn't the way to grow the economy and spending like drunken sailors doesn't help. Please spare me the covid stimulus pkgs. Nancy blocked 5 billion for a wall on our southern border but wants an extra trillion because?

Hey one eye, you and fescue fart need to get together. Seems to me your saying that the position of president does control the economy. Fescue fart says he doesn't. which of these flawed ideologies is a boy to believe?

either way, makes no difference:

#USAisfucked

It's the dems who blame Trump for everything bad. No president can take full credit for an economy, that being said, they can do things that influence the economy such as deregulating and lowering interest rates ( FEDS ) international commerce and putting pressure on congress. No one entity can control an economy as large as the US. Trump says a lot of things and so does every other politician.

It's Trump that claims everything good in the economy so it's natural that he should take the blame for all that's bad!
Other than that qualification. I agree with you. Surprise surprise!
Also, it's got nothing to do with the size of an economy. Our economy is small, by international standards and no one entity can control our economy for the same reason.
It comes down to a buy off between issues like health and safety in the workplace, environmental controls, social programmes/assistance and the like. Some Govts invest more in these, some less, that is the real extent of their impact.
In a free market there should be no political interference in trade itself, eg subsidies and tarrifs. These socialist tools have no place in a free society.

Well; I guess we’re not a pure free market society. We’ve been drifting towards socialism since the 60s. We are not a pure capitalist entity but some of us are trying to save what’s left.

And just like socialism everywhere else...it's been a fuckin' disaster.

'It doesn't exist': A top Republican economist says Trump has NO economic plan for a 2nd term

A top Republican economist says President Donald Trump has failed to lay out an economic plan for his second term.

"He has no economic plan. I don't mean that I don't like it. It doesn't exist," Glenn Hubbard, former chair of the Council of Economic Advisors under President George W. Bush, told Bloomberg.

Hubbard said Trump could have discussed issues like fiscal reform or trade, but hadn't done so.

"Anybody who says they know what Trump would do in a second term, I don't know where they're getting that from," he said.
