Just wondering

editors

I am not completely certain there is an official word. I think for me personally it would really depend on the context of use.

Though, uncommon words that jump to mind immediately would include:
  • Pool
  • Conglomeration
  • Assemblage
  • Congress
  • Society

But 'haggle' works.

What is the appropriate word for a groups of editors?

Haggle?

A group? Mmh, sounds like the jackpot of the century to pay your trip to Atlantis and catch a pair of unicorn at the end of the rainbow.

Where did you found a group? I always thought there is no plural for 'editor'. You have one, or none :)

So, the term you're looking for is "collective noun." The collective noun for a group of owls is a "parliament."

A quick Google search shows that there is indeed a collective noun for editors, and that word is an "erudition." An erudition of editors.

No to "haggle." At best it describes a sometimes necessary yet usually unsavory transactional practice. While there is a fair amount of negotiating involved in editing, I don't think many serious editors would care for "haggle" as their collective noun.
