Why am I unable to edit my profile or add a profile picture.

It's really annoying me.

My age is out of date for a start ...

Writing a quick bio in your signature panel will work in the term , that's the suggestion that was givin to us when we couldn't get the profile section to work.

Some insight... Originally, and still is, this site was two parts. The story side and the BB side. Currently, the powers that be are working to make the site a single site that has a BB and Stories to read and vote on. The Profile on the story side will eventually be the only profile that anyone sees. FIY.

That's pretty logical and proactive fiscal thinking as site owners. Bravo to them. First and Formost it's a writers site , authors should get the bells and whistles. Us board -ur's that don't submit contend other then comments can just use the signature section for a short bio if desired. It's working find for us that way , and was suggested early on when we first created a account.

We are really enjoying the site and have meet some really genuine folks.

There has not been any direct statement to that effect for at least two years that I know of. I see to recall some vague references prior to that, but neither has ever replied to any of these many threads that I know of despite being asked directly many times. Nor have they responded to PMs on the subject.

So to summarize , the site is ignoring the board profile issue and has for two plus years ? Is that correct ?

Verification of friendly shared insight seems like a waste of time. No answer is a answer in itself.

Boards don't create revenue , plain and simple. 100k plus or 200posts aren't worth much more then bragging rights of elitist stats in the grand scheme of things.

As a newbie we welcome insight , but don't take it as written in stone. I'm sure others that might read the thread might feel that way too.

Quite the opposite.


So called free websites, such as social media, have changed from old school advertising, to click-ads (was laden with fraud), to what it's been doing - harvesting and tracking users info and activity, then selling to to analytics firms. Not only for revenue, also profitable.

Yeah, about two years ago Manu alluded to this point, he did actually mention that was a goal, but that was two years ago. I'm not going to go looking for it, it might have been on some obscure thread or forum among the million or so threads.
