So now I’m thinking about beer.
Reading a little about it.
Stella has been brewing beer for over 600yrs.
There’s gotta be a reason and science they’re using green bottles.

And totally off topic Claussen pickles are way better than Vlasic.
Uncooked and always cold.
Crispy.

Now I’m thinking fried dill pickles and beer!
Oh boy, my thoughts are going downhill.

 Fried Pickles???? This is a thing?

I've read a couple of things over the years, the most prominent story is something as ordinary as a brown glass shortage after WW2. European breweries switched right green glass and it started to become associated with finer beers and it stuck, so here we are. If stored properly, green glass is fine, so is clear, but that beer has a long way to come before I get to store it. And it doesn't take a lot of light to cause he reaction with the hops that produces the off smell. Most craft beer here comes in cans for a variety of reasons, some of which are quality related (especially if unpasteurized), some of which are financially driven. Most beer in my fridge will be canned as it's mostly craft... But now I have a craving for a Stella.

Anyway, I've even read Stella came in brown bottles in Europe unto very recently switching to green. I have no idea, maybe a European Litster could enlighten me.

In Europe too they started after WWII for the reason you mentioned. Today, the decision is based only on marketing choices, as the use of green or transparent color is more attractive for the customers, apparently.

However, the craft beers of the most important breweries are always bottled in dark glass.

And there we go, thank you! :rose: I always like to know more about beer. šŸ»

I guess green is more appealing? I dunno. I get that a brand may have been built on it, like Heineken (or Corona with clear), so I get continuing that, but I tend to care more about the taste of the beer inside. I'm not a marketer, though.

You're welcome. :)
The taste is the only thing I care about. The only beer in green bottle I drink is Becks, sometimes. I prefer craft beer and/or dark glass commercial ones. The ones I buy in the supermarket are either Moretti or Menabrea.

Now that you had me thinking about it, the only more mainstream beer I drink here comes in a green bottle. Weird. It's not an import, however. Moretti is a staple of Italian restaurants in the area.

Short and sweet today filling in for that busy bee Trekka.

What’s one question someone could ask you today to make you smile big and put an extra skip in your step?

Yes!! Tasty too! 😊

Oh yes, very much so and very delicious.
I mean I guess I shouldn't be shocked. We can fry almost everything else. I'd just never heard of it.
Oh yes they are! šŸ’š
I’d call them bar food.

Ok. If you still have apricots up there, I’ll make you a trade for fried pickles.
Meet half way.
😁

They are typically harvested in July and August. But I know the fruit stands have the best ones still.

Montana.. Whoo hoo. Only driven through once. But we have to wait for the fires to calm down. Our Highways East/West were closed down last weekend for the visibility.

:p

How can I help you? usually does the trick. To me, it shows that words are more than just words, it's the action that accompanies them. I feel so overwhelmed most days that a little help would go a long way.

Definitely one of my Top 5. šŸ‘

Today i'd like to hear, Can I take you to dinner? Romance optional, I'm just itching for a chance to dress up and have some adult conversation and food I didn't have to cook. And drinks.

"Do you accept?"

I was asked that a few hours ago and I did.

I start my new gig in a couple of weeks. My sabbatical/life as a kept woman is coming to an end. I loved every second of it, but it'll be nice to get back to work.

This is near the top for me. So is an actual "how are you doing?" Like heart felt, how's it really going. Showing you care generally goes a long way with me.

Yay! Congrats, Suz. :)

Happy Saturday. :nana:

I’m gonna barrow Sassy’s tag line today.
(and no clue is she’s moody, always seems sweet to me.) 😊

Who here is guilty of being a moody roller coaster?
What triggers it, too much of something or not enough of this or that?
Are you one to share your lovely mood with others or keep the majority of it to yourself?
And finally do you apologize or shrug it off - as it’s part of life, personality or what ever feels convenient at the time?

I can start....
I’m moody AF. Mostly either even keeled or angry (can range from grumpy to very pissed)
I’ve tried to journal as to what triggers it; I’ve come up with a few things like processed food, too much sugar and or alcohol. Some days nothing, I wake up that way.
I try not to share it as, it’s mine to own and it’s not right to dump on others but that is difficult. I used to apologize all the time but I saw it wear on family and friends.
When I finally talked to my doctor, we went through family history, his thought is that it’s genetic in my fathers side. Since I work out 6days a week sometimes twice a day, and that didn’t help, he put me on Wellbutrin.
It has helped a ton, it allows me the few seconds I need to observe my feelings and see if the situation matches what I’m feeling. That in turn gives me time to change how I feel and ā€œlet goā€ of the irritation. 3 months now and things have been better than in many years

I’m moody.
I’m crabby. Social media doesn’t help. When i get too angsty I delete my apps and log out of here.
I allow myself to say ā€œnoā€ more.

Not getting enough time to simply ā€œbeā€ makes it worse. I’ve started hiking and taking longer walks, again.

Sex helps.

When I’m in a snit, I turtle. People who love me have a hard time with that, and I used to try to make it better for them, but of course that made things worse for me. At my age, I let that go. If I say I want to be alone, or don’t answer you on social media, I just don’t want to. And I’m allowed not to.

I usually apologize, especially if I’m a bitch, which I can be.

I never realized Fara was my female alt...
