As reported by the local CBS good morning news:

The online learning which has become a feature of the SARS-CoV-2 outbreak,

may now be used to eliminate snow days.

As a kid, I loved snow days.

Who didn't?

:(

I'm looking for the parents to finally figure out that they don't need public school.

Right, we need more uneducated Trump voters.

I'm looking for the parents to finally figure out that they don't need public school.

Indeed.

It's become more of a day-care complete with indoctrination.

The tragedy is, if parents begin to take up the home-school
option in any significant number, they're still going to pay
the same in taxes, if not more. Decreased volume will
be ignored and "specialty" classes will have to be
added to entice parents to opt back into
the public school paradigm.

;) ;)

Well this morphed into a standard
EDUCATION BAD
rant pretty much as expected.

Can't you guys entertain yourselves in any way other than trolling and hate?

No?

Okay, I thought so...

What the fuck is a snow day?

Signed,
The actual north.

*chuckle*

Hint: They don't come in August...

They sometimes did in my hoods. Days with snow, that is. We got our butts to class anyway. Just had to dodge the reindeers.

They're not my hoods anymore. I moved south, because snow its the devil's dandruff.

We're lucky if we get a dusting in December or January

and

btw

Rednecks cannot drive on snow.

You would think that they would treat it like mud...

I think that I read somewhere that there's a difference between education and schooling.

Oh yeah . . . .

I watched the kids yesterday with the "virtual" learning. Prolly more of the former, but the parents who were home with the kids were all stressed out about it. The older kids home alone with it didn't seem to care at all.

Parents with young children are always stressed.

Then again, a lot of parents really aren't grown up yet anyway...

I suspect that they were more considering the fact that, if there's no formal school year, that they won't be getting the Little Heathens out of the house for 7 hours per day.

The school bus was there. It was doing Meals On Wheels duty . . . .

Watch the laws change if that happens. The States get federal funds for every kid that attends public school. The state doesn't give a shit what the kids are taught or how they're taught as long as they get that money.

Kids are gonna be pissed about the cancellation of Halloween.

And what's the replacement mechanism to educate them and how quickly does that scale to accept the entire public school student population?
