I have finally written my second story for Literotica. It has been rejected twice right now so I am looking for an editors help.

I did select an editor from the list, no answer after a week, tried another again no answer.

I am really looking for a British editor as for my first story an American editor helped me out, but he changed a lot of the story to "Americanised". I would prefer the new story to be British.

To be honest I am getting quite disillusioned with the whole process, I wrote the story to be fun for myself and hopefully for others to enjoy, but it does seem a lot of trouble and time on my part to get it published. I don't have a lot of spare time so probably if I cannot get it sorted within a fairly short time I won't bother anymore.

It is only 3500 words so if anyone would like to offer some help (preferably someone who has had stories published on Lit.) I'd be obliged.

TBH I haven't had a lot of luck with the VE program here. I have the same issue no response and the three that did respond one was great but had heath issues and couldn't finish. One changed characters names and deleted random paragraphs and the third misspelled more words than he fixed.

Sometimes the problem is an easy fix. What is the rejection message? We may be able to guide you just by knowing why it was rejected.

I am willing to read it over. I'm nto British but am familiar enough with british idioms and spelling to look it over and advise you on what may be the issue. If you want me to read it over, you can

1 PM me
2 Use my author page to email me the file or a link to the file

Good luck.

Hi Shel,

What category is the story in? That can determine if some editors look at it or not. Flick me a DM if you want me to have a gander...

It is a male / female / female threesome, so I put it in erotic couplings.

Salacious Scribe is having a look at it, but thanks fro the offer.

After I looked it over I would go with Group Sex. Erotic Couplings is a catch all for anything that doesn't fit the other categories. The amount of people that look at your story and how it scores is affected by the selection of the category and what those readers want. There are a bunch of threads discussing how to choose your category.

Another mistake new authors make is the tags. Always pick 10. You can't pick more, but the more you pick the more readers you get.

Use lit's tag cloud to pick popular tags from the category you choose that fit your story. Make sure to use the exact tag. As an example...

Under popular tags for Group Sex ORGY was searched twice in the last 7 days, GROUP SEX was searched 23 times.

In 30 days GROUP SEX 81 times ORGY 13.

So you can see how important the right tags are to get your story in front of people.

Hey Salacious Scribe,

Hope you don't mind me butting in on this convo. How do you find out how often a term has been searched for?

Thanks,

Steve

Thanks for that, it's a complicated business putting a story on here isn't it ?

Not complicated at all to post a story. Just some things to learn. I made every mistake a newby could. I never visited the forums the first three or four years here. When I found them, I learned a lot.
