What would you define as Classic Movie era? Where would you say that the classic movie era ends? (just so I know where to pick my characters from)

Before 1990 preferably (too many concepts of "classic cinema"), expecting a heavy emphasis on "Golden Age" Hollywood sirens.

Another character I'd like to make love to is Lucy Honeychurch from A Room with a View, Helena Bonham-Carter's "breakout" role.
