I often thank the stars [or whoever] that I came of age during the 60's, with 'free love, sex drugs and rock and roll, before AIDS when we were all peace loving hippies and the worst common sexual disease was 'the clap' or crabs, and you could safely hitch hike anywhere and get a ride [and maybe more], and it seemed like money [or lack of] was no big deal.............we never went hungry! Jobs were plentiful if you wanted to work, but why work?? Endless sex-ops and the women dressed to turn on!!
I could go on and on about how lucky we were and I'm sure that others out there that survived the 60's would agree.
Now I have a couple of [adopted] kids in their early 20's and I really feel sorry for them even without this dreaded disease lurking, they don't seem to have the fun and excitement that we took for granted. Sadly, they don't even seem to have the urges we were addicted to for sex/drugs/rock and roll, sense of adventure, freedom of choices etc. Now, they don't even have opportunities to work a job that they went to college for.
It's just sad................
