It begs the age old question:

Cats? Or dogs?

Bonus Question: Best pet you ever had and why? :)

Dogs. Cats are the WOAT.

Best pet - I had 2 very different dogs and even though they were extremely different, I can't choose one over the other.
My first had a personality bigger that life and was the cockiest MF you have ever seen despite being a 2 ft high mutt and weighing about 35 lbs. He lived a bohemian lifestyle when dogs could get away with that shit. My dad would feed him and let him out in the morning. We might see him again at the back door in 20-30 mins or we my not see him for 3-4 days (usually during the time other dogs were in heat). I used to get called to the office at school several times a year to come get my dog out of the school. When he died, we discovered he had seven neighborhood daily food stops.

My dog that died in March was simply the ultimate family dog. Unconditional love and comfort. I miss him daily. He was the world's biggest and best Golden Retriever.

Seems like a Friday pick-me-up is needed.

Today I’m going grammar-style (if you say that with just the right voice inflection it sounds like you’re really tough). You may have already guessed the topic: hyphens. I’ve always loved them because as a general rule, you can’t ever go wrong using them. Hyphens can-go-everywhere, can’t they? Do you use them? Do you abuse them? Tell use your most egregious use of a hyphen and we can collectively decide if you were in the wrong or in-the-right!

Hyphens are underrated for sure. You know what people use too much? Exclamation marks. Their writing reads like a border collie sounds when they see a chicken...

I need to use hyphens more. I tend to find it difficult to bridge sentences together and end up using "but". I don't want to use "but" - I just can't find a better way to convey myself. I actually cringe at how often I use "but" because I'm too lazy to learn a better way to convey myself.

My Skype handle has two hyphens in it. Does that count for something?

Hyphens I rarely use. Think I'm at one so far today. Commas are a different story. As well as ... !!

How frequently frightens me a little.

I’m a hyphen fiend. Love them!
I also use far too many exclamation points!!!
To me, exclamation marks are the grammatical version of the emoji.
I hate using emojis :D
But I’m self-conscious using typed words without tone and inflection. So I over-emoji and exclaim!

I don't normally post here.....but it's quiet, and I'm bored....

Cats. We've been a cat family most of my life. I can respect a cat. They can be loving as hell, but they also let you know they won't put up with any bullshit.

And as much as I love my Princess...I will always have a place in my heart for Stryper. She was the runt of the litter, but grew into the most beautiful and loving cat I've ever know. She was the first cat that I taught to fetch, she came when I called her, and she would catch bats. I cried like a baby the day she died.

It’s going to be a very hot weekend in much of the US. I hope everyone has a place to be safe and comfortable. Today’s question: is the sweltering heat of mid-summer better or worse than the bone chilling cold of mid-winter? Sure it’s all relative, and results are biased by your current season but if you had to choose one, which would it be?

Heat is worse by far. You can only take off so many clothes. In the winter, you add layers, and you can be outside even in brutal cold. Trust me...a $50 under armor long john is worth every penny.

For me...it is all about how comfortable I am am while sleeping. I love breathing in cold air.

Cold weather for me...always...I grew up with 4 true seasons and Autumn and Winter were always my absolute favorite...I love Winter, the snow and the magic of that...Fireplaces, Winter boots and my favorite Winter clothes, fur blankets...beautiful memories for me...it is just my magic time...

Ironically I live in another country now which has a very exotic and hot/humid climate...I love it here though despite that...and I do have on the AC pretty much 24/7...so its all good:heart:

Both extremes are awful. I guess I’d go with being hot because at least the sun is out. Cold, dreary days are depressing in addition to being physically uncomfortable. At least the sunlight is pleasant.

^^^^ This. I can more readily adapt my work hours and apparel to function in the high heat index of a Southeastern summer while maintaining a positive mindset. Winters here are depressingly dank and dreary or icy and cold as well as mostly being overcast. On the rare occasions when its a bitterly cold but sunny winter day then that's a day for celebration.

I’m goin with heat.
I’m used to it. It doesn’t phase me.
Tank top, cut offs, flip flops, bottle of water, I’m golden.

I can count on two hands the number of times I’ve seen snow. And on the rare occasion that I do have to wear winter clothes, I feel like I am dressing for an EVA on the moon!

But a travel writer that I love once mentioned a quote that’s always stuck with me. “There is no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing.”

So ultimately I think if you’ve got the right gear, either is doable, even enjoyable. I’d totally go ice fishing! I also once had a blast at an outdoor concert when it was 110+ degrees - the whites of our eyes got burnt!

If I have to be outside, I'll take the cold. I have really fantastic winter great that is lightweight and really warm. But... If I can sit in the shade and sip mojitos, I'll take that.

I grew up in a place that went through significant heart surgers. Shade is definitely the key to staying comfortable.

Impossible choice. As someone who lives in a nightmarish hellhole where there is 7 months of winter, I’m not exaggerating. It’s cold here for way too long. And someone who also lived in the hellish year-round heat of Florida, I have to go with heat. Simply because of the Sun’s Out, Guns Out rule. Guns meaning boobies.

The heat brings out the skin, the legs, the cleavage, the supple, silken, lickable skin that just needs to cool off by having goosebumps spread across it . . .

Winter is an almost a year long event in my country (Scotland). It's not about layers, just learning to deal with the temperatures. I often put the bins out in my boxers when there is two feet of snow on the ground! I wear a T shirt to work from February to November because any extra layers just make me sweat more. I work on building sites and even in January, I will find myself taking off coats/sweaters because the sweat is lashing off of me. I was in a Bar, on a trip to New York, several years ago. It was March and I popped outside for a smoke, without a coat. The bouncer was amazed, asking me, "Aren't you freezing?" Honestly, the temperature at the time felt Balmy to me...

Cold and it's not close. I love walking outside on a crisp, cold day with the sun shining. The cold almost smack's you in the face, wakes you up and let's you know you are alive. I might feel differently if I lived in Northern Canada or Alaska. I was outside this weekend and just taking a breath is a chore. I feel like the heat is pushing down on my shoulders. The actual heat isn't the biggest problem though, I believe the humidity is the big issue. 95 in low humidity is fine if I can find shade.

I’ll take cold, please. I love in Florida where Satan herself would be uncomfortable. I can get warm. I can’t get cool. Plus, Florida cold is pretty mild. It never gets below 20. Well, rarely. But 100 degree heat with 90% humidity... gross.

I just realized how incoherent my above response was. It made sense at 2:20 am, but now it just looks like a tired person trying be be sexy and charming.

I’ll try harder next time. :D

It made perfect sense... hotter weather provides more incentive for women to wear lighter, more revealing apparel. And you emphasized the importance of admiring breastworks. ;):D:D

Cold. You can always put on more clothes. You can only take off so many. I'm fat. I have enough heat built in.

Alright so if everyone loooooves the cold so much then why are y’all always all up in my home state?! 😂
