Seems odd given that they don't pay taxes like everyone other entity and, you know, that pesky Establishment Clause.

Putting constitutionality aside - does it seem like institutions that are exempt from many forms of taxation should get my hard earned tax dollars to proselytize?

I have a moral objection to being a party to teaching our children that ghosts are real and science is not. Think of it as a sincerely held belief equal to the Little Sisters of the Poor belief that a ghost told them they should not provide contraception.

Looks like someone doesn't understand how separation of church and state works.....or the recent Little Sisters case.

Or just blinded by their hatred for a religion they don't like.

The fact that some of those rich mega-churches got federal money is a fucking travesty.

Blessed are the lobbyists for sweet Jayzus!

Can I get an Amen?!?

AMEN!

Jesus spoke about people like Y'all and I didn't think all that much about Religion , Jesus or God or even Satan either...

Then one day He sent an Angel down when I was scant seconds away from getting killed or severally injured.

Saved My dumb ass...That was some kind of wake up call let me tell you!

Although, I was so astonished or shocked it was several hours before I could talk...just couldn't put any words together.

That alone that happened when I was sixteen, not counting the other hair raising stuff puts all the dog crap y'all spew about not being a GOD and believing in ghost into the commode and flushes it in comparison to real life.

I have realized severl things over the years several things...Some are,

One i can't spell for SHIT!:D

An Angel can communicate both telepathically and with a wider voice frequency range than a human can produce although we can hear it.Their voices are richer, way fuller than ours and they (Thankfully) do not have to be visible for us to hear them.

The Holy Spirit is able to use various amounts of control over objects that you are controlling while suggesting whatever actions you are wanted to preform.

The Holy Spirit can cause you to say things you did not have any intention of saying. and predict things that could not have now known in advance.

God micromanages millions at least, events on a macro-timescale with seemingly no effort at all.

He has a sense of humor and forgiveness equal to his station.

He hears our prayers and petitions and sometimes tells us NO and we do not understand why...Many times I have been glad he did NOT give me what I asked for!

For some unfathomable reason he really cares about us, what each and everyone of us does and why we do them. Nothing gets past him neither thought nor action.

God gave us a extremely simple way to escape damnation and death and billions of people are to prideful, stubborn or ignorant to accept it.

He will sometimes allow you requests to prove his existence to a non believer or someone of little faith if it is what he wants...

The faithful are never alone.

I know and understand about as much about GOD as a minnow does about space travel.

As quoted in a movie one time... One thing I DO know is that GOD knows!

Rant and Rave on people!

Giving federal funds to a religious entity seems like a textbook violation of the Establishment clause to me. Let's hear your rationalization on why it is not!
Now ya'll know how we feel about paying for your abortions. :)
Remind me again what "religion" is abortion? Hmmm?

I was raised atheist, but we always respected religion.
The Bible is a philosophical work, and the gatherings provide a sense of belonging.

I think that the British-Murican attitudes towards religion are about their own mummy issues.

Or forced you to give money to the church. :)

If my taxpayer money went to a church, I would oppose it if they didnt follow federal guidelines

As a Canadian, my taxpayer money does go to providing abortion services

As an American, your taxpayer money does not

How do you not know that?

Being a Canadian I understand your ignorance of US tax policy, and forgive you. :)

This is the most bizarre Leftist thing I heard.
Because they feel virtuous and superior when saying them.

Why should my money go towards subsidising someone who got drunk and had unprotected sex (well, not all but 1/3rd of them are) -- why can't they borrow from friends, or seek some other charity instead?

Why not give my money to a system that teaches people hope?

I am not opposed to religous schools, and its very intellectually dishonest for you to imply otherwise , I literally said in what you quoted If my taxpayer money went to a church, I would oppose it if they didnt follow federal guidelines

If they didn't

You are okay with more taxpayer money being spent on kids going through the foster system though. It costs a lot of money to raise someone through the foster care system

As for your 1/3 of unwanted pregnancies come from drunken unprotected sex.. I assume you have some proof that you will show

Also no form of birth control is 100% effective, condoms do have a failure rate

Isn't there another board for politcal ranting?..

But, seriously...

When you get to my age (I'm gonna be 51 in a couple of weeks), all this political BS is just that, Bullshit...

I'm reminded of Mel Brooks' "History of the World, Part-I":

"Oh, a 'bullshit-artist'..."

"Did you bullshit last week?"

"Did you 'try' to bullshit last week?"

Who cares if some churches get some public $$... What? Are we to pretend that everyone of these craven bastards are not corrupt, slimey pieces-of-shit? It's like going into a brothel, and being shocked that you found whores there...

Grow-up! Let us put our big-boy pants on, now...

And, WTF, are all these Legions of the Faithful doing on an erotic literature site? I seem to remember the Holy Bible didn't have too many endorsements for indulgences of the flesh. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Judeo-Christian condition in direct opposition to sexual-pleasure for the sake of itself? The Letters to the Corinthians (alone) contains many passages denouncing carnal-gratification (not just sex) as sinful.

But, at the end of the day, I'm an agnostic, a political moderate, and I really don't care.

Finally, I think it's ironic that my summation is best put from the Book of Proverbs (KJV, 11:29), "He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind"

just going by the values that the Left promotes on the GB:
multiple sexual partners are either naughty, or a sign of empowerment&liberation
