question about hotwives/cuckolding and lit readers

Judging by several threads, the idea of having your wife cheat on you, or being a willing participant in her adultery, or even taking it one step further and being subservient to her lover- is fairly popular on this board. I get the appeal- the voyeuristic aspect of it is a turn on, the desire to see your wife pleasured, and even the high from being submissive or degraded, is a turn on for many.

But yet, on the story side- readers find stories with these themes to be controversial at best- highly unpopular and in some cases, downright offensive. If you were to write a hotwife/cuckold story, chances are the general readership will rip you a new one- "Fag Cuck Shit" is the derisive term often applied to such stories in the reader's comments, and the overall rating will average in the 1-2 star category.

So, why is that disconnect there? Are the readers of the erotic fiction on the "Stories" side of the site, as a general rule, that much more conservative than the people on the forums? Are the tastes that different, or are people on the forums simply more tolerant? I've never understood why, and it's partly why I'm so hesitant to write a hotwife/bull/cuckold story in the first place. It seems like a popular dynamic here, but once a story with those themes gets published to the site, it's quite the opposite.

Sounds like there is one group of people who know what they want and actually enjoy their lifestyle in real life while another group of incels is unable to even talk to a woman and spends all their time reading erotica angry at the prospect of another man with their imaginary girlfriend.

Haha, good analogy...I have actually read quite a few high rated cuck/ hotwire stories so I don't agree with the original premise, those stories are quite popular with huge views ...of course trolls will be trolls and I see such vitriol but it isn't a majority from my experience.

I don’t understand it myself. I mean, why are you even looking in the Loving Wives section if it sickens you.

I actually posted a hotwife/cuckold story in Loving Wives once, which even included some forced bi- play- the same kind of thing I read a lot of the threads in this forum. But the people who read it were extremely pissed off at me for writing it, in fact most of the readers were genuinely downright offended by it! I actually ended up having the story removed. I think there ought to be a separate category for willing bull/cuckold stories vs. loving/cheating wives, as it seems like the readership is very polarized as to what they prefer in those stories.

I have written plenty of Cockolding Stories and got both favorable reviews, as well as unfavorable ones. I would like to say that it depends on how plausible the story line is, but the ones that got unfavorable reviews were more plausible in my opinion, then the others, that were less plausible.

I thought maybe it was because readers could imagine their wives or girlfriends actually doing it, was why they were angered, but that is just a guess.

Hot Wives, as a category, is a bit of a cesspit. It does seem like the logical place to post about, oh, I don't know, a story about your hot wife, except you get 1-bombed into oblivion. And some of those trolls will take the time to 1-bomb the rest of your Lit library, too.

So, I put most of my cuckold/hotwife stories into a category like "Group Sex," "Fetish," "Interracial" and even "Novels/Novellas" since many of my stories are long.

I've adopted an "anything but Hot Wives" attitude and been happier for it.

Lit can be quirky at times, but it's still fun.

That is crazy...ignore the critics who don't create anything...they are silly turds.

That said, it would be frustrating to have such feedback.

If I don't have anything nice to say about a story I just STFU, and don't even rate the story!
I understand and respect the thought and time it takes to create anything.

Is it common for these stories to not make clear they are going that direction in the description or the story itself? I've been annoyed when a story will take off in a direction I wasn't expecting and didn't really care for.

I'm thinking that might be the case with cuck stories a lot. You'll have a husband finding out his wife is cheating, and to his surprise it turns him on. On the other hand, I can see why as a writer you might want to leave it as sort of a twist.

Usually if the stories written decently I'll just stop reading and not vote on it when that happens, though. It's not enough of a reason to give a bad rating. Not my thing - I just move on.

Well, I think I went a little over the top with my story, which was part of it; some of the fetish scenes were a little graphic for the mainstream. The story started out with the main character meeting his future wife-to-be in a fetish club, where they were acting out a scene that was, well, rather squeamish (he was in a compromising position, lets say) and it did feature some heavy female domination with the cuckold/forced bi scenes. Looking back, I get how people who are not into female domination and fetish would be put off by some of that.

If I knew then what I know now, I probably would have categorized it under "Fetish" rather than "Loving Wives," and probably had a more receptive audience. But even there, a lot of people, even those open to BDSM, are not really fond of the female dominant/male sub dynamic.

I've talked to a few people about this before on the boards, and some criticized me for "letting the trolls win" by pulling the story> But I see it as, in their eyes, they might have seen my story as me trolling the audience, which was not at all the intent.

So, why is that disconnect there?

It really isn't.

LW is a bit of a snakepit, but the vipers are more noisy than harmful. The complainers you see here are more concerned about points, ratings and comments than most. The squeaky wheels. But it really isn't that bad if you don't let the bastards get you down.

Many of the stories in LW could go in EC, Group, E/V or a few other categories and get better reception.

In my view, that has no place in LW. There are specialty categories for that.

I agree with you about no gay/bi sex belonging in LW. But I'd go further and suggest that most of the cuckold readership is to be found in the Gay Male category. I tried a cuck story in Fetish and it wasn't that well received. I had seen Fetish touted as the category for this "fetish" - but mine did have plenty of Gay Male content in a bisexual context.

If I were to write another one, I'd be sure to include the gay/bi content just so I could plant it in that category.

I'm not submitting my story now. mmf, mild teasing/humiliation

Since it's mmf, there's probably some bisexual content. I'd put it the Gay Male category and see what happens.

Out of curiosity I did a tag search for "cuckold"; I was surprised to see at least 9 pages of stories rated over 4.50. Interracial seemed to do well and there were even a few at 4.50 and higher in LW. There were cuck stories in Transgender, Fetish, Gay, Non-Con, Mature and probably some I missed. There is an audience for these stories.

I'm with yukonnights, post your story, just steer clear of LW.

There are a lot of us longing for hot stories that include mmf along with mild teasing/humiliation. Don't get hung up on which category you think fits best. I've seen that before where a writer gets pissed because they can't get over the idea that their story belongs in a certain category. The world's not a perfect place.

I posted my recent story that had similar content in Gay Male with good results:

New Category

Why don't we suggest to the "powers that be" in lit to create a new category specifically for cuckolding with a side note that it may include items that fall under BDSM, FLR, chastity, Bi sex, maybe some cross dressing. Leave the Loving Wives category for more the stag / vixen stories. It is no secret the many stories have more than one theme.

I began my time here on Lit by posting a cuckold story in LW. Many of the responses I received were incredibly vicious. I actually received death threats. I eventually asked that the story be taken down.

Male insecurity has been the bane of human existence throughout recorded history. And it doesn't help that they are always in the minority. It runs rampant here in the United States, where too many guys' greatest fear is that they may not be viewed as macho enough. When a Lit reader is that sort of guy, and he sees a story in which a wife views another male as more masculine than her husband, the reader's irrational fear for his own acceptance among his peers overwhelms his intelligence, and he lashes out.

The irony of the situation is that in real life your typical cuckold, the guy who is always vilified by the unstable reader as a wimp, does not suffer from that sort of fear. Every cuckold I've ever met, and I've met a lot, has a very healthy self esteem.

So why the disconnect? Because the stories section provides a rich fishing ground for writings that provide reinforcement to an unstable mindset. It is far more difficult to find such easy pickings of endorsement here in the forums.

This situation has existed here at Lit since the day I joined. It will always exist, and the world will forever be at the mercy of a minority of insecure males.

Ignore the comments, or turn them off. No reason to be bothered by them.

You are bang on regarding self esteem here. My wife has sex with other men. Actually she has fabulous sex with them. And seeing as its relevant here, they have bigger cocks than I do. But after three decades together our sex life is fabulous as well. I also have a variety of interests would firmly put me in the alpha male category. I think these “critics” have some lacking both in their heads and in the lives.

Or read them for fun. I have posted comments and referenced our own hotwife lifestyle, hoping to get someone going. It’s great when it does.

This thread served as a great reminder for me!

I discovered this site through the posted stories.

Only after enjoying many many stories (most from the loving wives section) did I find the bulletin board section.

I need to get back over to the loving wives section and enjoy!

Thanks for the reminder!

I enjoy cuck stories.
I'm constantly looking for new authors.
Those I like the best are the ones presented as factual, a retelling of an actual event.
I especially enjoy reading about how the wife was converted from being a traditional, monogamous, "good little girls don't do that sort of thing", woman to being a hotwife, or at least to being open to being shared with other men.
