I'd be outside, hosting a BBQ for my community members and assembling care packages for the infirm. Buuuut, since covidium-19 (to quote Jeanie) means I'm off the hook this year, I'm spending my national holiday writing erotica.

And I just wanna say that in the last five years that I've been here, I've come to appreciate this little community. I've been writing for a long time (I'm 51 on Bastille Day), and have always enjoyed it, but this place is fun.

Sure, there's trolls and mental midgets who get annoying with their racist, bigoted, and incel ways, but people like that fade away, and get kicked out of their mother's basements eventually. They're ephemeral.

The rest of the community, especially my fellow authors, now THAT I enjoy, especially when we get humorous and silly.

And I appreciate my little band of subscribers/followers/readers who ingest my paltry literary musings and send feedback. I don't think authors live for or crave praise and validation as an end in itself, so much as once you're done expelling those demons via prose that it's cathartic to hear people say 'Hey, good demons!'

So if you're on today, I'm sending trillions of red maple leafs your way (feel the social acceptance and tolerance!), and know that we all make this community what it is, and what it can be. We all get credit (and blame) for that, every day.

As for tomorrow, well... for me, it's back to punching Nazis. The TV and movie industry is still on hold, so I need something productive to do when I'm afk.

I'll come by and wish you all a happy 4th on Saturday.

Peace, love, and tribadism for everyone!

Look, I don't want to sound ungrateful, these leaves are lovely, but... what did you do with all the syrup?

Happy Canadia Day! And don't forget to lock your wrist!

I’ll second that, although I have enough leaves in the yard from the deciduous trees finally deciding to, ummm deciduous.

Have a good one!

I might need to steal that (with attribution).
Happy you day, ya crazy canuks, I haven't met one of ya I didn't like.
(Those folk across the pond, though, them're another story...)

We're friendly, but we tend to keep the syrup for ourselves. Can't we be just a little selfish, please🤗

You can probably tell from my stories that I'm front Toronto, I don't mind outing myself that much.

As for you, where in our fair nation are you from? It's okay to just use a province, since the intartubez are a little more precarious for the ladies.

But Happy Canada Day at ya!

We are happy and nervous. Right now, we just want to keep Quebecers and Americans out. Anything to the East of us looks safe right now.

I wish we could share/post images in here. I have a really funny Maritimes/Quebec meme you'd love.

Belated all the best from the middle of the country...
