Wow...so that must mean I didn't do health physicals and blood pressures on refugees from the meat packing plant in my area. I also must not support my local food pantry and woman's shelter. Just because I am a Christian basically you are saying that I am too dumb to do those things.

However, you readily embrace the Hinduism and Buddhism concept of Karma. Remember....it comes back to bite you!

By the way,...... Most people don't want charity, they want better wages and benefits for the work they do, and they want a government that facilitates access to basic housing and services that everybody can afford.

In a society like the United States, there should be programs in place in the event of catastrophes. The concentration of wealth in the hands of a privileged few over the last 50 years, mainly facilitated by republicans, has made a strong infrastructure of non charity based relief resources unavailable to the masses.

Rather than having unpaid volunteers and a million different charities, there should be a tax funded emergency assistance service that automatically kicks in when a person loses their job. The emergency service could even hire out of work people during catastrophes to handle an influx of claimants, and pay them on top of the basic needs amount.

Things like I described could have been in place long ago if not for corruption and greed.
