Every day, if you watch the ticker, you'll see lots of small profit takers cashing out. They're actually hurting themselves because when they take their $100-200 profits, they drive the market down again.

Which reinforces their timid trading strategy. Conservative trading is 1 thing, timid is another.

It will stabilize again. When it does the big gains will return.

This week "might" is enough to cause total panic and meltdown. Fuck 'em, I bought an ETF at the bottom.

It's peanuts. But, right now it's a +$70 cap gain in 10 minutes and the market looks like it's going to dig itself out of today's hole. It probably won't close much higher than yesterday's close but it should close in positive territory or close to it. It really depends on how many day traders are left who will sell off after 3pm.

^ someone has absolutely no idea how the stock market works.

Basic primer/premise lessons:


Example #1:

IF the stock market is at, say, 25950 when it closed yesterday. And at 26950 when it opened this morning, that's a gain of 1000 points. However, if the market closes today at 26550, the "scorekeepers" will say that the market "fell" 400 points to close "lower". Meanwhile, everyone who bought yesterday and sold today made bank on their investment.


Example #2:

If the stock market opened this morning at, say 25950, and fell to a mid-day "low" of 25300 and you bought shares in a fund or stock or ETF at that point, IF the market goes up from there to, say 25750, the "scorekeepers" will still say that the market "closed down for the day" but your shares actually GAINED value.


Example #3:

If you SELL when the market is at, say 25950, and right before it closes at 25500 for the day you BUY the same number of shares you sold earlier in the day, you will make a profit on the difference between the buying and selling price. In the stock market, you don't need to "own" shares before you sell them. As long as you sell higher than you buy, you'll make a profit. WARNING!!! This is a very risky strategy and at least 1 person this year has committed suicide after losing his shirt because he didn't understand all the risks of what he was doing. It is, however, a trading strategy employed by many successful people in the market.


Example #4:

Had people invested in an index tracking ETF for, say the S&P, when the market was at it's low back in February, their ROI would be something like 39%. That ROI would have been realized in less than 4 months. Buy low, sell high isn't just an advertising slogan.

Even before this was started members of the media and the clowns from Hollywood said they would love to see this county fall into economic trouble in order to bring down the government. That is the purpose of attacking and blackmailing the various business companies. And they send these stupid fools out and help spread the Communist Virus sent to the world by the good wishes of the butt head leader of China.
