The UCR reports are not court outcome based reports. Period. Conviction rates, penalties levied, etc. are not part of the data base. They aren't even based on arrests made. Strictly crimes reported to the authorities. Where the race of the perpetrator is unknown, that too is stated in the reports.

The reason my posts are 'long and convoluted' (or whatever he said) is because these situations are inherently complex - the list I made above is just part of the whole situation.

Ultimately, you seem to be making a claim that the entire system ISN'T biased on the basis of ethnicity. If you can provide evidence to support that claim, I'm interested to see it. I'm pretty sure both GS and I am aware of the foundations and contemporary contexts of our own countries. This thread isn't about the issues that exist in Australia or Aotearoa - it's about a very specific situation in the US, so we're both commenting on that. It may come as some surprise, but we can be interested in international politics as well .... just like the whole world is currently a bit interested in how NZ is dealing with the virus.
If you want to start a thread about Antipodean racism, by all means do - I have a wealth of data about that which I'd be happy to contribute.
