Minneapolis Protests

You're a moron.

Ditto.

On the one hand, he's somewhat correct. The crowd did have a role in what happened by failing to stop what was going on right in front of them. That doesn't mean they were at fault or complicit, only that they played a role in the final result. The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. The crowd stood by and did nothing.

On the other hand, I totally agree with you.

What were the onlookers supposed to do against armed thugs? That's just another form of victim-blaming.

Point taken, but who would police, at any price,
in a community where the crowd gets involved?

What were they to do? Shout? Attack?
Some sort of impedance?
[They filmed.]

Do then the police have to act in self-defense?
I know this was tragic, and should not have happened,
but what is the crowd to do? Do you have an easy solution
that does not dissolve all of the bonds of civil and community order?

Bullshit.

The crowd could have stopped it. Yes, some may have been hurt, and there's always the possibility of arrest and conviction, but at some point, you either stand by and watch someone die or you act.

Good men act even knowing that they put themselves in harm's way and that sometimes they will die along side the one they are attempting to rescue.

I did not absolve the cops for their role in the guys death, I just pointed to the crowds role in it. Mr. Floyd also had a role in it by his actions that triggered the entire incident.

I see the whole picture, not the image after it has been processed through the filter of racial bias.

What about the ants on the ground where George Floyd was being neck-pressed and died? What was their role? They were right there in the thick of it, they didn't have to back home and serve their queen!

shit, what about the bacteria teeming everywhere around his face and on the soles of Derek Chauvin's shoes? They definitely had a role in it, they didn't even social distance themselves before getting into it!

The whole picture, my guy. The whole picture.

You're an idiot of major proportions if you're saying people should intervene with police 'doing their job'.

You call yourself a lawyer? You're an imbecile.

Back up...

You're inadvertently promoting mob rule over rule of law.

There was no law present at that moment in time. What was supposed to be "law and order" was a mask worn by evil and tolerated by those whose job it is to prevent that from happening.

There are limits to what the people should be allowed to do in times such as these. They shouldn't EVER be allowed to "dispense justice" with a rope. BUT, it is the task of every member of society to ENSURE that those charged with crimes actually get to have their day in court instead of being victims of "Judge Dread".

Summary execution in the street isn't "justice". It's also not the rule of law.

I think this leads to social breakdown.
The underpinning of our system IS
to take justice out of the hands of the mob.

Is the new paradigm now that every time some mob
seeing the police do something they pretty much don't approve of
is to mob them? Are you sure those rules are the ones you want to live under
because if it is okay to lynch the police, it easily and logically follows that
lynchings of individuals are similarly legit.

And the Stupid as Fuck POLICE CHIEF knew nothing about the 12 previous Police Brutality Complaints against Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin?

Take another BONG HIT!

Hell yea more bong hits!!! Freedom bitches!! :D

Your response just proves that you react emotionally to people making observations that don't align with your own.

You tried to accuse me of absolving the cops of their role, (which I didn't), while totally absolving the crowd of its role, as well as Mr. Floyds responsibility for his actions.

Then you go all Karen, and start ranting about ants and bacteria.

Take a deep breath and hold it for five seconds, then slowly exhale. Once you've composed yourself, maybe you'll be able to accurately read what is posted and respond without the histrionics.
