Does anyone in their right mind believe Pelosi should be president?

Carter was much worse for different reasons. As far as the rest of the world goes, they are only interested in what the US can do for them. Wake up calls can certainly be intrusive. :)

How soon the US forgets about 9/11...well at least a certain segment of the US citizens do. *chuckles*

The President Pro Tempore of the Senate is next in line if the Speaker isn't eligible. Right now that's Grassley.

Found it, while it is very unclear, if there is no election what so ever....since there are more republican Senators up for re-election than Democrats the below seems to be the answer.

This is important as the next in line would be the president pro tempore of the Senate, which is Charles Grassley. However, if there were no election, there may be a Democratic majority among the remaining senators not up for reelection, unless sitting governors or state legislators were allowed to fill vacant seats, which is another issue.

The longest serving majority senator is traditionally handed the honor of serving as the president pro tempore of the chamber. Among Democrats that would be Patrick Leahy.

The outpouring of overwhelming support from the rest of the world? lol. Not sure what that has to do with Pelosis' mental capacity to be president. :)

"Up for election" does not equal "vulnerable." Some are, some arent.

Until you posted this, I'd say no. With this, if the alternative is Trump, Pence, or you, among some others, yes.

No alternative. This is specific to whether or not you think Pelosi is fit to be president of the US. :)

If there is no election then vulnerability means nothing...if there is no election, you can't be elected, right?. So the seat is declared vacant. However the possibility exists that the state governors could make such appointments and fill the vacancies.

And I suspect SCOTUS would end up involved due to all the law suits by the Republicans/Democrats. Be a fun shit show to watch from up north.

Again it is all hypothetical at this point in time now isn't it?

See already you forgot, or more to the point, you didn't know what other countries around the world did...no surprise here of your ignorance.

Still has nothing to do with Pelosi. Start a thread about how the US responds to all the overwhelming support it receives from the world. And there you go, name calling, rob. :)

More fit than most. The presidency isn't just one person. There isn't just one person doing (or not doing) the job. It's the people the president brings in with them who get the job done (or not). She was raised in politics, she's doing a skillful job of the position she has, and it would be extremely difficult for her not to bring in better people to do the job than Trump has. Anyone her age (or Biden's or Sander's, or, Trump's, for that matter) would only be a short-term placeholder. None of them would last for eight years from now.

That's a genuine, responsible answer, I think. Not something you're likely either to be responsible or capable enough to absorb. You're just here for the laughs and the back biting.

Couldn't stop short of being an asshole, could you.

Then I'm not here to become a famous writer of pornography. :)

She is probably more competent than Biden, like any positive number is higher than zero.

I stopped well short of your assholery now, didn't I?

You had to revert to an attempt to deflect and distract. It's your question. I responded to it seriously and you just did another "Ann" in response.

You answered. Thank you oh so much. I really owe you for that. How can I ever repay you. :)

Rep. Pelosi would hate to leave Congress.

It's been so lucrative for her family.

Instead of being your usual self you could stop and give a responsible thought to the question you asked in such a prejudicial way. You might not have asked the question at all--certainly not the clueless way you did--if you were giving any thought to how badly the Trump gang is fucking the country up.

Fact is I'd prefer someone like Romney as president before I would Pelosi, but that would make your deeply prejudicial little head explode. Another fact is that, yes, she's one of a small number of people who has the chops to do it and to pull us back from the maw of a Trumpian disaster. She couldn't do it for long or alone, though.

I think the word you're looking to use is 'partisan' but you're the word guy. :)
